STRUCTURAL DESIGN TRAINING USING STAADPRO
TRAINING MODULE MODULE DESCRIPTION
This course serves as a basic to intermediate level application of STAADPRO software for structural design of various types of structures. Participants are expected to have good grasp of structural design engineering principles.
Each participant provided a dedicated pc with the necessary software loaded and the training course will be an interactive sessions. The participants will also be given the opportunity to develop at least one project – specific deliverable during the training programme.
Course Content
MODULE 1: INTRODUCTION TO STAAD FOR STRUCTURES AND ANALYSIS AND DESIGN
• General Description
• Types Of Structure; Trusses , Frames, Shell etc
• Units
• Structures geometry and coordinate system
1. Global coordinate system
2. Local coordinate system
3. Relationship between global and local coordinate systems
• Member properties
• Member releases
• Basic support or boundary conditions
• Basic load definition and load generations
• Design capabilities
MODULE 2: MODEL GENERATION AND ANALYSIS OF SIMPLE STRUCTURES
• Setup ; templates or user-defined
• Geometry
1. Model generation using templates
2. Model Generation Using Member Incidences for Beams, Plates & Surfaces
3. Model Generation using Import from DFX file.
4. Model Modifications: Add, Remove, Move, Divide, Selection , Mesh Generations etc.Mirror, Delete etc. of Beam, Plates And Surfaces
• Member Properties: Material, Releases, Offsets Compression & Tension etc.
• Support; Foundation, Fixed, Pinned, Free, Enforced Spring etc.
• Loading ; Dead , Live, Wind And Combinations
• Analysis Options: Linear Static Analysis
• Design options
