A formed Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-kayode, has described the allegation of oath – taking among the political class in Ogun State as ‘satanic’ and ‘despicable.’

Speaking with journalists in lle-lfe, on Friday, Fani-Kayode described his detention by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as rewarding.

Fan-Kayode, who confirmed his interest in the governorship race of Osun State in 2011, said he had the experience to move the state forward. Fani -Kayode is being tried by the EFCC for alleged corrupt practices and is out on bail.


“Subject to the support of my king, Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, subject to will of my part and the Nigerians in Osun State, I have an ambition to contest for the governorship of Osun State,” he said.

He explained that Oba Okunade Sijuwade, and the state Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, would play critical roles in determining who emerged as Osun governor in 2011.

Commenting on allegation of Oath-taking Ogun politicians, Fani-Kayode said, “I think it is an absolute disgrace. It’s just not against God but it is against everything that we were brought up to believe in.


“I pray that God will take absolute control in this country. I think people who indulge in such a practice should go and bury their heads in shame.”

The former minister said the tussle between ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and his deputy, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, was an unfortunate incident, which threatened the stability of the PDP. He said, “There were two groups within the same government and two groups within the same party. It was an unfortunate series of events whose control was beyond any of us. I think we have learnt some lessons from it.

“Obasanjo has demonstrated his leadership quality by reconciling with the former vice- president. I have also visited the former vice-president and he give me a wonderful reception. We are one big family and I’m happy about that.”
