HopeAtHand: Let me assume you are serious, the dry dock is not meant to service Nigeria alone, I wonder why the likes of you go about sabotaging investments in our region (Niger Delta) and expect more to come in. 2 Likes |

HopeAtHand: Definitely. We Nigerians don't like being objective. But I thought the dry dock project is private. Private investors should be free to locate their investments anywhere they feel comfortable with. People from the Niger Delta need to take the lead in oil and gas and ship projects. Why are they not doing so? |

blazetitov: Cost effective and economic sense is by siting oil installations and related investments in the Niger Delta . If Buhari cannot deal with insecurity and restiveness in Nigeria, its an indictment on him as the President of the country. You claim Insecurity and youth restiveness in the Niger Delta, yet Nigeria still produces more than 2million barrels per day from the same region. Bunch of fvckers. NDelta is only good for exploration and oil spill while Lagos deserves dry dock. 2 Likes |

HopeAtHand: If your people keep blowing up the oil and gas installations which some companies might have taken huge bank loans to procure, then that does not make any economic sense. Talk to them to cool down, acquire the necessary skills and drop the arrogant posture that they can even demand for Obama's head because the oil is from their region. I believe every oil firm will take their needs into consideration. 3 Likes |

poseidon12: Politics is the reason its being sited in Lagos. We had to literally fight for NLNG to be relocated to Rivers.. Lagos does not contribute any single cubic of gas but was very willing to collect tax from resources it doesn't own.. utter rubbish. 2 Likes |

blazetitov: You are talking about the issue of security. The govt is empowered by law to secure strategic national assets. If the govt cannot do its constitutional duty, it shows they are inefficient and irresponsible... blame them. 1 Like |

HopeAtHand: Agbami is one large field operated by chevron in the Igbokoda/Ilaje area of Ondo State and its a large one at that. Yet its not the only one as I know mobil also operates in the area. So ........ While I see sense if LADOL's yard had been in the Niger Delta. But people don't start such ventures without serious pre-feasibility analysis. So who blames a businessman for siting his business where he desires and is assured of better returns? 1 Like |

mickey45: Agbami field is located in nearly 1,500 meters (4,900 ft) of water off the central Niger Delta. The operator of the field is Star Deep Water Limited, an affiliate of Chevron. Also involved in the field are Famfa Oil, an indigenous oil company owned by the Alakija Family of Lagos, Petrobras (Brazil), Statoil, and NNPC (the national oil company of Nigeria). It was discovered in late 1998 and the second major deepwater oil field discovered off the Niger Delta; the first being Bonga Field by Shell. Agbami's output is about 250,000 BOPD. 1 Like

Yes Nigeria produces 2 million barrels but it is supposed to be doing 2.8 million per day if not for the useless insecurity. Even out of the 2 million about 505 are now from offshore. Offshore that use to account for less than 20% when Nigeria use to produce 2.4million barrels per day. Gone are the days! HopeAtHand: |
