The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue state has suspended the Caretaker Chairman of Okpokwu Local Government, Hon George Adah, a National Ex-officio, Hon Nelson Alapa and 22 other state party officials at various levels over anti party activities.

The decision was disclosed yesterday in a press statement by the APC state secretary, Hon Onov Tyuulugh a meeting held yesterday in Makurdi to review the outcome recently held Benue South rerun senatorial election which the party lost.

Others suspended include Chief Obande Obeya, Hon Sylvester Obeya (Vice Chairman Okpokwu), Hon Adidu Iwo (Vice Chairman Otukpo LG), Hon Paul Adoyi (Fmr Caretaker Chairman, Ogbadibo LG), Hon Ode Akoji (APC secretary Otukpo LG), Hon Ada Owoicho (APC vice Chairman Apa LG), Noah Dickson, Hon Godwin Atta (APC Secretary Apa LG), Hon Ochofije Uji (APC chairman oiji ward, Apa LG), Hon Ochoche Iduh (APC chairman Oba ward, Apa LG), Hon Sulaiman Aledu-Agatu, Hon George Ehigocho (Ward Chairman Edikuni I, Apa LG), Hon Sunday Achigili (Ward chairman Edikuni II).

Also suspended are; Hon Ofiegocho Godwin (Chairman Ikobi Ward Apa), Hon Eye Abraham (Chairman Awake Ward Apa), Hon Ada Anawo (Apa APC welfare Sec), Hon John Unogwu (Ex-Officio Apa LG), Hon Engel Wednesday Inalegwu (Apa LG), Hon Paul Ageh (Ado LG), Hon Okpe Ocheme (Supervisory Councilor), Hon Esther Okpekwu (APC VC Ado LG) and Hon Alegwu Adadu (APC Chairman Ado LG).

Hon Tyuulugh alleged that the members had compromised during the conduct of the elections and will remain suspended until they absolve themselves.

He directed that all those holding party positions should handover to the next in rank at their level, and also advised the state Governor to drop those holding political appointments.

Anti party activities? Deir would hav been a beta way to handle dis dan suspension cos i see dis people decamping to PDP which wil do more harm to APC. I'm sure PDP wil welcome dem wit open hands

You can't blame them. The Idomas felt the Tivs were so interested in Disposing off David Mark from the National Assembly when the Tivs still had old cargoes like ZoneB Akume and ZoneA Gemade...

.[/size]They will not decamp. These were former hungry political allies of PDP, looking to reap were they did not sow. They came to eat and thats all. If they decamp to PDP what gain will they have.
Who no like food? They came to eat, so it doesn't matter how they are served. All na food, whether served cooked or raw.

On point. The best way to deal with this kind of issue would have been to identify the immediate and remote causes of APC's lose to PDP in the just concluded Benue South Senatorial rerun.

I for one never expected Hon. Onjeh to defeat Senator David Mark. David Mark is a Political figure not just in Benue State but the entire nation who has a goodwill that is much adored by his people. He has helped the Idoma people to have a voice and contend with the political forces within the local Benue political circle. It would have been politically unwise and miscalculations on the part of the Idoma nation to vote for Onjeh instead of Sen. David Mark who made sure that the Idoma people are got juicy federal jobs at the expense of the dominant Tiv nation.
What has and an Onjeh do for the Idoma people, if we may ask?

Secondly, the ruling party APC in its usual political propaganda thought it was going to garner enough votes by mere empty propaganda and fake promises and lies which they are known for. How do you expect people to vote for your candidate when civil servants are owed backlog of salaries and arrears for several months, since the inception of the APC led government.

Thirdly or relatedly, the Benue people have not forgiven the APC led government for how it handled the 'bailout' funds meant to clear all outstanding salary arrears of workers. They therefore, thought it wise to hit back at the failed government by voting for the now opposition party.

It is time the ruling party understands that propaganda can't keep them in power beyond 2019. The APC government must wake up from its slumber. This is just a warning to the party leadership in the state. The may see more disgrace by the time local government elections are conducted. Most electorates will not vote for the ruling party.

APC pained losers...... You are free to call me a wailer, but the truth is what I have spoken.

APC is a sinking ship. Very soon so many rival political parties will spring up. Most states will not continue under the umbrella of the APC after 2019. If they do not practice the change they preached before elections

You will not understand. If you continue with this mentality then, you still have along way to go. Open your eyes now and criticize the ruling government constructively before it sinks. The truth is that, it is not always about Buhari. I love him personally. I also know that if majority of APC members or leaders share the same burden he has, we may be better off, but as it is now, most them are just hiding under the canopy of his goodwill to frustrate him and many helpless Nigerians.

For your information, I voted for this government, but I do not celebrate mediocrity. I still believe we can make it if we do the right things.
