The report of the Senate Joint Committee on Finance and Public Account, which investigated the alleged fraud and mismanagement in the execution of the Treasury Single Account policy of government by SystemSpecs, indicated that Senator Dino Melaye goofed when he alleged that N25billion was paid to SystemSpecs for its services.

Recall that on November 9th 2015, on the floor of the Senate, Senator Dino Melaye had alleged that a company which he had called Remita was collecting N25billion daily for rendering agency collection services – “for doing nothing.” The N25 billion commission was one percent of the N2.5 trillion allegedly remitted into the Federal Government’s Treasury Single Account project. However, for remitting government funds into the TSA, and its alleged collection of N25 billion commission being one per cent of the alleged N2.5 trillion it remitted into the TSA.

According to section 6.1.16 of the senate report, “the committee could not ascertain the deduction/collection of twenty five billion (N25 billion) by SystemSpecs as 1% fee charged for the use of its Remita platform within the period under investigation.”

Senator Dino Melaye and a number of other members of the legislature have made similar misleading statements in the past, which had misinformed the unsuspecting Nigeria public.

It is left to be seen whether Senator Dino Melaye will apologize for misleading Nigerians.

Someone should call our "distinguished" senator out on this matter!
