DESCRIPTION
Assistant Maintenance Engineer
A vacancy has arisen within Group Property
Services for the position of Assistant Maintenance
Engineer, based at Aon Training Complex.
The key responsibility of this position is to assist
in the maintenance of all plant and equipment,
including heating, ventilation, swimming pool
plant and the wastewater treatment system at
the Training Complex, deputising in the absence
of the Maintenance Engineer or Facilities
Manager.
Duties will include general maintenance and day
to day operation of plant and equipment and
keeping records of water tests and treatment.
The successful candidate will oversee the
supervision of maintenance contracts and ensure
that the handling of all chemicals (particularly
swimming pool chemicals) is done in accordance
with Health and Safety guidelines.
The successful candidate must be Gas Safe
Registered and have experience in Commercial
Plumbing. He/she must demonstrate excellent
interpersonal and communication skills and be
able to be flexible, attending emergency call outs
and work weekends and evenings as required.
Ideally applicant’s should possess a Swimming
Pool Plant Operator qualification and have had
basic electrical, Health and Safety and COSHH
training, but this is not essential.
Hours are 37.5 per week, based on a working
week of Monday to Friday, although some
weekend working may be required.
Appointment to the role will be subject to
satisfactory references and DBS Disclosure. Job Description Post Title: Assistant Maintenance Engineer Rate of Pay and Benefits: Salary offered will be commensurate with relevant experience and the level of responsibility undertaken in the post. Accountable to: Maintenance Engineer (Aon Training Complex) Purpose To assist in the maintenance of all plant and equipment at the Aon Training Complex, deputising in the absence of the Maintenance Engineer or Facility Manager. Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the post are:- 1. To assist the Maintenance Engineer in the day to day maintenance of all plant and equipment at the Aon Training Complex. This includes heating, ventilation, swimming pool plant and wastewater treatment system plant. 2. To deputise for the Maintenance Engineer and Facility Manager in their absence. 3. To be responsible for all swimming pools. This includes their maintenance, day to day operation and keeping records of water tests and treatment. 4. Where possible to carry out maintenance on all equipment and plant and to ensure that maintenance records are kept. 5. To assist with the supervision of maintenance contracts. 6. To ensure that the handling of all chemicals (particularly swimming pool chemicals) is done in the appropriate manner 7. To work weekends as and when required.
