Dear Nairalanders this is a very sorry situation a fellow forumite has had to battle with for the past 4 years with the Direct Labour Agency of the Delta State Government.

I rented out a couple of my trucks to the agency with an agreement of payment semi-annually but till date it's been come today come tomorrow i feel this is just the height of injustice.I had to finance the project personally by paying the drivers and maintanance of the truck as agreed with them but recouping even what i expended is impossible as it is now and i am very very frustrated.

If there's anyone in the house who could advise me on how to go about this should please respond to this post as i have ran out of ideas on what to do.Have written severally to the governor without any response have agreed to part with an unbelieveable percentage of the total amount all to no avail.

Hope to read from you guys.
Thanks .

If there is corruption involved or you have proof of corruption and corrupt practices regarding your payment. Pls also visit http://www.nigeriaconfidential.com and write your experiences, upload proof in any media ( video, voice, pictures, documents). I am sure more people will be interested in reading and knowing the injustice being perpetuated.

Someone may be able to help you if you can say exactly how much is involved in this contract. It is possible an audit was done and the Government found the contract terms unreasonably skewed in favour of the contractor.

A certain agency of one of the governments in the ND was reported recently to be in a free-for-all contract scandal where some people were paid (for example) 50-60million naira for jobs requiring not more than 500k to execute until the Gov blew the whistle.

Give us a more transparent picture of what went down. That way we can advise.

A guy who was owed N5m by NNPC for more than six years came lamenting to my dad, not knowing that the Executive director (Finance) was our in-law.

A simple letter from my dad to the guy did the trick in less than two weeks.

these kind of cituations demand that you reach someone in authority to do the job for you. I think you should take the advice of Josite or Dubstick. Else you may wait for ever.

Of course put it all in prayer. God will either touch them to pay you, or raise you a helper (the bible uses this term a lot of times to connote someone God raises to speak out for his people in times like this).

Peace!

Sorry y'all for the late reply haven't been online for a while, just saw that this topic even though an old one,has been recently resuscitated and i'm glad for that.

With regards to those requesting to know more details about the contract terms and the amount been owed i can't start typing everything on the contract terms here but the amount been owed is #5 million naira this might sound very small to some folks here but this will go a whole lot of way and not also forgetting the fact that this said amount has been pending since 2005.All documents relating to the job are available.

Whoever is willing to assist should contact me on pojieson@hotmail.com

Thanks y'all
