HRM Eze Morgan Nwenendah Amadi KSC JP, Eze Ohna Okporo Okwurusi is the monarch of Okporo Okwurusi kingdom who hails from Rumucheta community in Mgbuesilaru town in Obio/Akpor L.G.A of Rivers State, Nigeria. He was one of the specially invited government recognized traditional rulers that graced the Interdenominational Thanksgiving and Victory Celebration organized by the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to celebrate and mark the landmark Supreme Court judgment that validated the mandate of the Rivers State governor, His Excellency, Chief (Barr.) Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON. In this interview with NkiruHomann’s Blog (NHB), he spoke on the laudable achievements of the state governor within a very short stay in office, the role of the traditional rulers in supporting and ensuring peace, development and good governance. He also spoke on the need for government to collaborate and incorporate the traditional institution in policy making, planning and execution of sustainable programmes and projects.

Whatever makes a monarch leave his kingdom must be something serious, urgent or important. Eze, with due respect, you were caught in camera at Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Elekahia last Saturday, may we know why you were at the stadium?:

Truly, a monarch leaves his kingdom for very serious reasons alone. I was Yakubu Gowon Stadium Elekahia Port Harcourt last Saturday because Rivers State Chapter of the PDP was thanking God for the victory of the Rivers State governor, His Excellency, Chief (Barr.) Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON at the Supreme Court. I was at the stadium to honour that special invitation and grace that colourful thanksgiving service and victory celebration.

I think it's right time the ikwerres stop using the 'EZE' title since many of them said they are not igbos.the 'EZE','OBI,'IGWE' titles belong to the igbos.if you say you are not igbo then stop using the titles period.

What makes an ethnic group is the belief of the people. Aren't Isoko and Urhobo sharing name, language, food,dressing, kingship, geographical contiguity et al? Ibibio and Annang?

Comparing the Igbo/ Ikwerre issue with the Urhobo/Isoko issue means three things:

1, You are a mischievous person
Or
2, You are ignorant of the historical facts surrounding the both issues

3, A combination of the above two.

Isoko had always maintained its distinction from Urhobo right from the very beginning, the both groups were called Igabo and sobo by the colonials, it's like the Annang/ Ibibios, two related groups that chose to remain independent of each other, right from the colonial times.

It is very true that Ikwerre and Igbo shear language, just like Europe some tribes (now countries) shear languages. But i know for fact that Ikwerre are not Igbo's and Igbo's are not Ikwerre, however Igbo's being the biggest ethnic nationality to Ikwerre, they had a very big influence and shape their life style. In today's world America dressing has also influenced us and our building, food, drinks and etc.
Mgbu in Ikwerre means Community OR Compound and Esilaru also in Ikwerre means two people. So Mgbuesilaru is two communities in one community. In Ikwerre you will see more communities know as "Rumu" which means Children of the progenitor.
For better understanding Obio/Akpor LGA is made up of Obio and Akpor while Obio has its descendent as Evo and Apara. Evo has its descendent as Oro-Evo, Oro-oportoma and Oro-Esara. Oro-Esara descendants are Okwurusi, Oro-Igwe, Okoro (now called Rumuokoro) and Atali. Okporo in Ikwerre means old settlement, so Ancient people of Rumucheta and Rumukwurukwu agreed to be called Mgbuesilaru and they are the inhabitants of Okporo Okwurusi and Mgbuesilaru is the head of Okporo Okwurusi kingdom.

Rumucheta and Rumukwurukwu has their individual lands and they leased some part of their lands to Shell, Total, Agip and other oil companies

While Apara has its descendent as Elkingbo (Rumuigbo), Eprikom (RumuEprikom), Okwuta (Rumuokwuta) Ola (Rumuola) Rukpokwu, Eneka and Rabisi (Port Harcourt LGA)
