Missing Ingredients In "Complete" Business Plans

1. MANAGEMENT OF BLIND SPOT SYNDROMES (BSS)

One of the major risks faced by businesses is what I call "The Blind-Spot Syndrome(BSS)". The blindspot is a part of the eye with no ability to detect light.

EVERYBODY HAS THE BLINDSPOT, PHYSICALLY AND OTHERWISE. WE ALL HAVE ISSUES THAT NEED OTHERS TO HELP US DETECT. BUT NOT MANY PREPARE FOR PROBLEMS THAT CAN ARISE FROM BLINDSPOTS-- ESPECIALLY THE CEO's-- WHILE WRITING THEIR BUSINESS PLANS.
Many businesses seems to be suffering the complications of this syndrome, especially the C.E.O's BSS. Here, everyone in the company, even the most junior staff, may see the problem with the company except the CEO.
If you are a business owner, thinking or saying you don't have a blind spot is a proof you not only have one, but you are already manifesting symptoms of BSS. Living in denial doesn't change reality. It only allows situations to get worse.
Many business failures can be traced to poorly managed or totally undiagnosed BSS.If you didn't acknowledge BSS as a risk in your business plan, you better consider rewriting it.

2. EMPLOYEE LOYALTY PROGRAM (ELP)

Did you include CUSTOMER Satisfaction in your business plan? If you said Yes, you tried. I'm not so sure many consider the role of having satisfied, loyal employees in building businesses with LASTING success stories.

THERE ARE OTHERS BUT I WILL STOP HERE FOR NOW.

The problem is the wrong motive for starting and running businesses. When your motive is all about making money and achieving success it shows... and it puts a limit to how far you can go.

Starting a business should be about working with people to solve problems for people. If you don't grasp this early enough, you will suffer many avoidable losses even when you make profits.
