4 people have been confirmed dead after a 5-storey building collapsed at Chisco bus stop, opposite Oando Gas Station in the Lekki area of Lagos this morning. Several others are still trapped in the building. Continue to see more photos from the scene

Yea, The only smart thing on some people's body is the phone. Plenty phones are actually smarter than their owner.

Causes of building collapse:

1. Greed: Substandard materials, shallow foundations, very lean concrete mixes, etc just to cut costs and line pockets.

2. Total ineptitude of the builders: Quacks everywhere. Building owners don't care to hire professionals.

3. Rushed up jobs: No waiting for concrete to build up strength before loading it with structure dead weight above.

Building collapse finish dem go dey call God name!

Things like earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, etc no dey Naija. Our own "disasters" na wetin we dey do we self!
