Stop whatever you are doing and read this. Yes, it is that important and you can not afford not to have this knowledge.
For people who work for someone in paid employment, think of this.
Imagine that you wake up everyday and get to work before eight in the morning, work and grind till probably four or five and go home thoroughly exhausted, you have little time for your self or your family, and you go days without seeing those that matter to you.
Your weekends though free are crammed with the activities you ought to have done during the week, and so your weekends are basically as busy as your weekdays.
You are happy you have the job though , because you get paid in six figures so you are content.
Jobs are scarce so you stick to the same job for the next few years. "I will always take a break" you tell yourself, but gradually the days roll into weeks, into months, and years.
You are no longer needed in the company, there are younger talents who can do what you have been doing and more efficiently too. You are a liability, and so they send you off, a pittance of an allowance for a pension, a fraction of what you earned, and you remain bitter at your former employers.
It's a big rat race with no end in sight and you are at the middle of it.
Many of us are in that situation today.
Do not be fooled.
Your organisation makes a whole lot from you and gives you peanuts as salary.
You are only useful in that corporate entity as long as you can rake in cash or contribute to the profit, once you can not do that anymore, you are gone.
What do you do?
What then is the way forward?
Do I quit and start a business?
For some people, that radical approach is what is needed.
But for some others, it's a bit difficult because of your responsibilities.
If you are in this second category, this is what you must do.
MAKE A DECISION to break free from the glorified slavery you find yourself. You can make this decision at anytime. You do not need to have a million dollars in your bank account in order to make a decision. Just when you get to that point where you know you can not continue like this, then you should not continue like that.
TAKE ACTION no matter how small your idea is. Find something you can do that won't disturb your job and yet has the potential of cushioning an early retirement. In a subsequent article, I will reveal to you a few of these.
BE CONSISTENT if you want to make a success out of anything, consistency is key, no matter how small your daily efforts are, they will eventually add up to give you something big. It's just a matter of time.
Now you can go back to what you were doing, but with a different mindset now.
Cheers.
