There's no doubt that OLANIPEKUN SAN and his Legal team have been good entertainers when it comes to Legal comic. Some of us who had been victims of his legal wits in the ALHAJI JIBRIN ISAH ( ECHOCHO) legal battles with the out gone CAPTAIN IDRIS ICHALLA WADA, are conversant with his taking hopes to the peaks with superior legal arguments and dashing them at the valleys of despair.
I may NOT understand the Legal jargons, but with a COMMON SENSE of the law I understand that. ...
1. The election was declared 'inconclusive' by INEC before the demise of our party's candidate.
2. INEC directed APC to pick a substitute to replace Late Prince Abubakar Audu the party's candidate.
3. After due consultation with constitutional Lawyers, the Attorney General of the Federation the best option that will reduce legal confusion was to settle for a second runner up in the party's primaries, hence the hitherto directive.
4. That Hon. Abiodun Faleke's letter of withdrawal consequent upon seeking redress as the winner of the election was NOT received by INEC before the supplementary election, hence his position never been vacant.
5. That the claims that ALHAJI YAHAYA BELLO went into the supplementary election without a deputy was null and void since the position was never vacant in the eyes of the law.
6. That WADA the second respondent in the case acknowledged ALHAJI YAHAYA BELLO as APC substituted gubernatorial candidate and participated in the supplementary election with him before being defeated cannot feign or claim the alien disposition of Bello in the process.
7. That votes are casted for the party in line with the party's manifesto and hence can be transferred and or inherited.
8. That Certificates of Return were issued by INEC to Alhaji Yahaya Bello and Hon. Abiodun Faleke as governor and deputy governor elect respectively as winners of the supplementary election.
9. That the prevailing legal braggadocio has no precedence in our legal History hence, the need to create a new one by the decision of the Court.
You will all agree with me that the emergence of ALHAJI YAHAYA ADOZA BELLO as governor of Kogi state is by divine providence. And hence, the need to collectively and harmoniously come together to chart a new course for the greater growth of our dear state.
We cannot continually fiddle in legal and political power tussle while our dear Kogi state burn in the furnace of backwardness.
Let's put the interest of the state first and above our personal interest.
