Let them continue to detect, it is because no share will be given to them that is why they are angry. In GEJ administation they quickly passed the budget and shared all the money.

zombie detected! So you mean after all the time he took to appoint ministers and special advisers, he couldn't still get the right people to handle things like this budget? This administration is a joke!

All the previous budgets were made available for the public to see. Please kindly tell us the flaws/padding in the last budget proposal that GEJ presented. One ridiculous thing about you APC followers is that you never come up with any evidence. You just make baseless allegations to divert attention from the incompetence of this government. How can a whole president stand in front of lawmakers and read a budget proposal then come back to accuse other people of padding it? Isn't that mediocrity? It's like signing a document and then saying you never bothered to read it. Whose fault is that?

Quakertellicus1:
The interesting thing about this new APC government is that flaws/padding of the budget is now being exposed.

Which in itself is sign of change....in the bad old days of PDP...such things would be swept under the carpet.

Good work from our APC controlled Senate. That is what we elected you to do.

For example, in 2013, the sum of N527,000,000 was budgeted for the item; in 2014, N1,161,356,582 was allocated to the same item; in 2015, N316,420,274 was budgeted for it; and N1,710,322,610 is to be spent on the procurement and installation of security system in the SGF office in 2016.

I guess u guys criticizing did not read this part of the post. Or was buhari also president in 2014/2015. Nigeria budget has always been corrupt but this is the first time these errors are been expose. Unlike the previous govt.
Though I dont support the errors in this budget. I think the present govt need to work harder, as they are too slow.

If this is the first budget, it would have been better, why can't the president cabinet scrutinize the budget before presentation or why this double counting

And i pity yours. Especially as you seem to justify the lack of savings over the last 6 years with high oil prices.

Corruption exists, and APC too does have some corrupt people. But I for one am glad that our budget is being scrutinized more heavily than usual.

If that qualifies me to be deceived...so be it.I do not support APC just to take over power from PDP....but also to do better in the scrutiny business too.PMB was not voted in to relax.

why spend so much yearly installing same device on same office when you can go for quality and maintain it regularly. APC and PDP are one and the same. We need a fresh breath of air.
Re: N’assembly Committee Detects Fresh Flaws In 2016 Budget by Nobody: 9:46am On Mar 17, 2016
What most people don't understand is that due to the INCREMENTAL BUDGETARY SYSTEM Nigeria uses (they take the last budget and modify it slightly to adjust for inflation, without changing most things), these same paddings, errors, mistakes, or whatever they're termed, have been recurring year-in-year-out, but they were not exposed because previous budgets never underwent this level of scrutiny.

I dare say our National Assembly are finally sitting up to do their duty (well, to a little extent anyway) rather than gathering deliberate on irrelevant issues and passing useless bills as they've been doing (still doing sha, when one considers the Gender equality bill). Maybe they're sitting up because they aren't getting as much as they used to....we'll probably never know. So rather than criticising the Government, we should wait and see what would come off this intense budget scrutiny, before passing judgment. lipsrsealed

It may or may not be "business as usual".... wink

You still have a very long time to keep copying and pasting the same thing.

If you have been opportuned to be in a big organization where budget is done, you will know that Buhari is not expected to go through budget from line to line.

He entrusted that into some people's hands and when they let him down, he fired them.

That is the good governance 101.

There must be consequences for whatever anybody do against your conviction as a leader.

Compare it with what your bros did.

Don't mind them. What most of them has failed to realize is that this new development of uncovering "paddings" and errors in the budget is a good omen for Nigeria. Back in the days, every of the looters would have aligned and be on the same page to pass the budget without thorough checks. Most Nigerian youngin's aka the youth are dumb and blinded by their partisan political mentality. I weep for this nation
