Power generation dropped by 759.1 megawatts on Wednesday on the back of losses recorded by Egbin, Afam VI and other generation plants.
Electricity generation had on Tuesday risen to 4,368.5MW from 3,548.7MW on Monday. But it dropped to 3,629.4MW on Wednesday, reports say.

Generation from Egbin, which is located in Lagos, was limited to 912MW on Wednesday, down from 1,085MW the previous day, due to gas constraints.

In Shell’s Afam VI power plant in Rivers State, which generated 524MW on Tuesday, it saw the level falling to zero on Wednesday. Its four units were said to be out due to defective gas compressors.

The Sapele power plant did not generate electricity on Wednesday, compared to the 40MW it produced the previous day.

Other plants whose generation fell included Omotosho, Olorunsogo, Geregu NIPP, Odukpani NIPP and the Ibom power plant.

Nigerians....this is the punishment from the gods for your terrible choice of voting in the dullard of Daura.

Next time you will choose your candidates more wisely based on what they have actually done.

Goodluck added between 1500-2000MW of power to the national grid..

Buhari took glory for it despite not adding even 1 MW of power.

O ye people of selective amnesia. You want to infect people with it abi? Jonathan's administration hit over 4000MW once and that was it, we were in the 3000s for the most part of his administration before he left us with 1800MW (This is easily verifiable fact by the way).

Then I think you need to collect a refund from your English teacher or maybe he's the one that deserves a refund sef. There's a difference between "dropped by" and "dropped to". The article clearly stated dropped by 759MW but your knowledge of English interpreted it as we're at 759MW.. well done!!

warrefa!! whether it dropped by 759MW or dropped to 759MW. It is too much to drop by. we are not interested in what GEJ did anymore, we know he added more MW to the national. at least let this govt maintain what they met there not that it will dropping by the weeks.

Again absolutely nothing wrong with criticizing the government of the day. When they do bad, it affects us all. What I don't like is when folks want to act like these problems are brand new or during past administrations especially the immediate one, Nigerians were living in paradise. If we did Buhari won't have stood a chance

I understand you but this administration made too much noise as if they already understood the economy and know what to do.alas Nigerians are the one bearing the brunt of these spurious government. They condemned the last administration as if it came straight from hell but they are not doing any better.

I'll say this, I'm not sure if we're being dishonest, unrealistic, impatient and we're just plain liars. The US that has a way more robust economy got into a crisis that hit its peak in 2008, it wasn't until this year that some government agency said Obama had turned it around. Whichever politician was lying to us that they'll snap their fingers to solve all our problems, I personally didn't believe. No one can solve Nigeria's problems in one year, it's impossible. This economy we all keep shouting about is all because oil lost its value, so we're feeling the loss in income. Diversification isn't a short term solution, not short at all. Let's just pray they pass this budget on time, at least that'll ease the pain when money starts flowing into the system.

Some states are excluded from the black out anyway so I don't think there is black out nationwide instead it should be " most part of the countries are experiencing black out"
