It is obvious from statistics of various complaints and testimonies of sheer luck from various candidates with respect to their JAMB scores that something is really wrong from the marking of the answers. Observe the following issues:

1. Many students that actually guessed in some of the subjects had between 40-60 marks in those subjects.
2. Many students scored below 40 in their best subjects.
3. Many software applications may not work perfectly especially when it has to work through the internet and connection sometimes breaks or becomes poor. Things can get mixed up. That is why a correctly dialled line sometimes links up with a different line. Server down issues were common.

The best explanation for these wrong scores is to assume that the new software application coupled with occassional poor internet connection erronously mismatches question types and its proper marking scheme.
The questions for each subject are the same, but they are only re-arranged and marked as type A or type B or type C or type D, etc. The marking scheme must match the particular type to get the correct score.
If the wrong scheme is used, candidates that guessed would score average. While candidates that answered correctly would be marked wrong and would score low as if they guessed.

If this assumption is correct JAMB should accept its error and find a solution to the issue.
This is neccessary so that brilliant students would not be prevented from sitting for post JAMB due to low JAMB score. And they are many from the agitations.

Proposal:
1. JAMB sholud allow Universities to conduct post JAMB for all students that choose them. This would allow a level playing field for everybody
2. The Universities should not use JAMB score in their aggregates.

This proposal should calm nerves and bring smile to everyone.
The only disadvantage is the volume of candidates that would sit for the post utme and the increased competition. But this would be ameliorated with the income that would accrue to the Universities from the venture.

An official statement has been realeased, but they did not admit any fault. They only passed buck that some disgruntled people are behind d protest.
