Hello everyone

So I read a story on NL earlier today about how a Nairalander was able to successfully quit and get over Tramadol addiction, so I decided to bring my question here as it had been troubling me for a while.

I usually have a painful menstruation, I mean so painful I won't be abke to do anything. I was advised by a friend who happens to be a medical practitioner to be taking tramadol, and believe me, it worked!

I don't take more than 1-2 tabs and only when I'm on my period. Whenever I take it I don't feel any pain at all, it helps me suppress the menstrual pain although I do feel a lil high and excited and I've been taking it for about 3 years now, if not more.

So these are my questions:
Would it affect me in any way?
Am I addicted?
Is there any better way to deal with the menstrual pain?

While Tramadol is an anagesthic, it should only be used on prescribtion from a conpetent medical service provider. Hence, see your doctor to advise you ma'am

Tramadol is a semi-narcotic. It has addictive properties. I would desist from using it unless absolutely necessary (after surgery). Alleve or Panadol Extra should solve your problem. Just stick to their recommended dosage and your pain should be controlled.

Tramadol is an analgesic as we all know, and should be a prescription medication. Don't use unless prescribed for you.
