TEAM NEWS Bryan Oviedo could miss out again for Everton, although he has returned to training following a chest infection. Kevin Mirallas and Gareth Barry are both suspended but Muhamed Besic could make his first start since January after returning from injury. Arsenal could recall Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott after they were only used as substitutes against Barcelona. The Gunners are still without Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Petr Cech, Santi Cazorla and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. MOTD COMMENTATOR'S NOTES Steve Bower: "Having gone out of two competitions in five days, there isn't time for Arsenal to feel sorry for themselves. "While they surely know the gap to Leicester above them is too big, they won't want to be looking over their shoulders and facing any prospect of missing out on a top-four finish, something that has never happened to Arsene Wenger. "The Gunners, though, have only taken 10 points from the last 27 - a similar return from their final nine games would certainly create anxiety. "Everton's inconsistency, especially at home, has prevented a top-four challenge of their own in this campaign but, as Arsenal will be aware, they are capable of beating anyone on their day." Twitter: @SteveBowercomm WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY Everton manager Roberto Martinez: "Arsenal, with the experience that they have, the know-how, the clarity and the way they play football - it doesn't matter what pressure is on them they will always play with a certain style and be very, very good in that style. "I just feel Arsenal are still strong title contenders and that's what we're going to be facing at Goodison." Arsenal have only won once in their last eight games in all competitions. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head Everton have only won one of the last 17 league meetings (D6, L10). However, the Toffees are unbeaten on the last three occasions they've hosted Arsenal in the league (W1, D2). Everton Everton are looking to avoid three successive league defeats at Goodison Park, having previously lost to West Brom and West Ham. The Toffees have only won one of their last eight Premier League games at home (D2, L5) and have lost three of the last four. Roberto Martinez's side have kept just two clean sheets at home in the league this season - against the current bottom two, Aston Villa and Newcastle. Romelu Lukaku has scored six goals in his last six games in all competitions. Arsenal Arsenal have gone three games without a Premier League victory (D1, L2) and have only won one of their last eight matches in all competitions (D2, L5). The Gunners have conceded seven goals in their last three league games. Prior to this run they had only let in five goals in eight matches. Mesut Ozil has provided 18 assists in the Premier League this season - but only two have come in the last nine league matches. |
