There are rumours that Gov. Ambode is going to demolish 3000 Homes in Lekki Gardens Estates in Lagos. As investigations go on and there are no public results or accounts from the structural stability tests, at least that no one has heard of, we all need to ask ourselves; What is the motive behind all this? What is his intention for demolishing 3000 houses? Is it based on assumptions/secret tests or he just feels like flexing political muscles and using Lekki Gardens as a scape goat to teach others a lesson?

Does the public deserve an explanation for all these? Is it important for us to get an account of how much the losses are, how they will be restored and how soon? Are the Ghettos of Lagos State coming next for structural stability tests? Will the Governor visit these Ghettos and demolish them all because they don’t meet the building standards in Lagos?

These are important questions that we need answers to. We hope the concerned authorities provide answers to these questions before the demolition begins.
