Hahahaha so sorry, his canes were strangely fat and the amount of pressure he uses when flogging is something else. God help anyone on the sweeping roaster if the class is dirty and he strolls into your class by mistake.

looool at advice you, after he has almost wrecked ones palm he will start advising.

this girls case here i believe its stil a small matter, many parents are spoiling their kids these days...i cant remember anyone goin to report to their parents about being flogged those days.,,except ur father's rank in d military is superior to dat of the commandant...yet after being baptized with water beside d parade ground u will be asked to roll o d parade ground while being flogged..we are better off today.

1. THE HEAD GIRL HAS NO RIGHT TO SLAP HER. IT IS BARBARIC. 2. THE PRINCIPAL AND TEACHERS HAVE NO RIGHT TO ASSAULT HER. 3. PHYSICAL ASSAULT ON A CHILD IS A CRIME. 4. A SLAP CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND CAN KILL. FLOGGING CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND CAN KILL. The best way to discipline a child is by instruction like making the child to write that he or she will not repeat the bad thing 100 times on a notebook or simply tell the child to kneel down for an hour.

I truly can't believe what I'm reading here, for god's sake what would a 14yr old kid do that would warrant beating her until her back and buttocks bleeds? From everything I've seen, corporal punishment only messes up the mentality of a child, children who received mindless beatings like this are more prone to become societal problems than those who are corrected through more thoughtful means. What am seeing here is barbarism and should be condemned without buts. Not like I'm taking sides with the student here but, beating a child to the extent of leaving marks on him/her is very unacceptable.

It's all hypothetical of course. My son will never attend a Nigerian school, and never be flogged by a Nigerian teacher. And I will never be forced to take matters into my own hands, and seek a bloody retribution.

But I hope you're naive enough to think that it couldn't happen to you. I know you're a teacher, and I genuinely hope that you go around beating children at your place of employment with impunity. I honestly hope that one day you beat the wrong child of the wrong parent. I just hope you don't ask him to 'quit talking tough' when he comes with his boys for his pound of flesh.
Whatever man. tongue tongue tongue You can hope what you want to hope.
Re: Student Battered By Principal Of Eva Adelaja Girls Secondary -"Graphic Pictures" by Nobody: 1:04pm On Mar 21, 2016
Wow, this is bit extreme. I sincerely hope the student in question has not been causing problems and terrible offenses repeatedly. That's the only reason they may have gone this far to discipline her.
Although, it's really too much, normal punishment would have been better and no so-called prefect has the right to slap another student.

Threads like this raises the fear that those making claims that a high population of Nigerians have mental health issues but are not aware of it may be on to something - our culture dismissively assumes that it's only the totally mad that have mental illness. The blame goes to the society at large - a situation where a typical kid navigates through oppression, poverty, stress, abuse etc to survive may not leave visible marks but the psychological wounds are there and largely untreated. The manifestation is what you see on threads like this.
Well, let's keep smiling and trivializing everything the new Nigerian way.

Back to the issue:

The head girl needs help... urgently!
The abused girl needs help... urgently!
The principal and his crew need help, re-training and re-orientation and above all... they need to face the law for interpretation of their act as adults, trainers, leaders.

Then she'll end up slapping Buhari and many will forget that when she was returning slaps, as a child, nobody cautioned her, instead they sympathized with her. LOL.

The beatings I received as a child made me the person I am today. When I was little, my mum who was a teacher, never failed to instill discipline in all of us, while she instilled it, my dad, (who was a soldier) drilled it in us.

If my parents ever hear that I was around where a fight took place, even though I never took part in the fight, I get 2 strokes of the cane, because they will always ask "wetin you find go there".

So, as a child, I know where to go and where not to go, if I hear or see "two fighting" na speed I go take comot there. And even if someone punched me, I will never retaliate. I will go straight to the persons father and report, or I report to my parents. Its just that simple.

I've always maintained that parents of today have failed in training and teaching their kids on how to behave and act!. That's why you see many here shouting and raining fire and brimestone.

They should thank God she is not my daughter. That principal would have been flogged in front of the pupils and the teachers too. As far back as the 1970s, from primary class 1, my father warned my primary school that no headmaster or teacher should flog me.

Am against the Mal treated but this teachers you are talking about they are mothers and Parents too!! They cant just wake up one mrng and decide to descend on only her!! She must have been rude to them when she was invited to the staff room!! Op tell us the full story and stop being sentimental!! That's you people aid and abet bad children and when they get to the universities, they bcome secret cult members and runs girls and Problems to the society!! Shame on the NPF for wanting to arrest the management without proper investigation!! That what's how I read the other day how a secondary school cultist kiLled his Ex- Headmistress who is a grandmother in Benin, the headmistressed must have been dealing with him in school those days, now that he is a cultist, he decided to pay her back!! @Op your are biased in your account! OP I CHALLENGE YOU AND AM ASKING YOU TO QUESTION THE CHILD AGAIN TO TELL YOU WHAT SHE DID OR SAID TO THE TEACHERS THAT WARRANTED THE TREATED!!! If you decide to go to court remember they can still afford to get lawyers too. And there will be witnesses but student witnesses and Teacher witnesses that will come and testify THE TRUTH! So you better look before you leap!! I have seen a situation exactly like dis, the parent when to court and they ended up Apologizing to the school management and the Child was expelled too!

Of course, she did wrong! However, a sane grievance procedure should be in place that addresses this in a sane manner. Thay should have given her suspension, asked to see her parents or even expell her not all these gang beatings! I had a similar experience in school where a student slapped me as a prefect. The verdict was that he slapped the school authority and not me. A panel was set from students in all the classes I.e jss 1 - as 3. Dude was asked to read out loud what the rule says about his action and its consequences...result was suspension. Eventually, I had to join his parents in begging the school to revoke the suspension. Dude never tried such again, students learnt from the experience as well. It was sane, we didn't turn the simple case to a show of chaos! These teachers might as well as thrown a tyre over her head and lit up just to show their superiority. Nonsense!

Oga caution is different from barbarism. I haven't seen anyone who said she deserves a handshake for revolting against instituted authority, but it just doesn't warrant such mobbing by the teachers. Look around you and tell me who punitive discipline has helped. you don't have to be so rigid around your earlier assertions, be open to reason.

There's no rigidity here. The teachers, the head girl, the girl who was flogged are all wrong, plain and simple.

Discipline has helped me a lot, I speak for myself and myself alone. When a child err, who correct the child, and if the correction fails, you switch method.

I never for once opined that the teachers were correct, did I?

She wasn't battered, she was flogged and the mark on her body is that of cane. And what do you expect to be done to a pupil who is strong-headed? Sing cumbaya for her?

She slapped a head-girl who represent the authority of the school among the students. That was too forward of her. The punishment was very appropriate for her.

You shouldn't allow yourself to think that all the teachers will slap her just because they love to slap her. She must be a heady girl and must have been notorious.

In my school days, you don't try such, you don't talk back at your prefect let alone slapping back. The prefects had the power to punish their fellow students. And this maintained a level of discipline aog the students.

She wasn't battered, she was disciplined, believe me, the the cane marks will go away in a few days. The cane was made for her type.
it will even go away in a few hours. we have all had this kind of marks on our bodies before.

Well people are naturally opined to their opinions, depending on how they see things.

But I still want to know what made the head girl slap that girl. For she to have reacted that way means something must have spurred her to give in to her emotions. I will not be surprise if both of them are fighting over a boy anyway. Lol.

oh, so you admit the slap could have been over a trivial issue? for me I don't care what made her slap, kids of that age are also known to abuse the little power given to them.

As in...

I don't care about what really caused the slap o, and am not also saying that girl hasn't done anything wrong, but the approach by the teachers is just wrong from every angle.

For one, children generally (head girl or not) should be taught that violence doesn't solve any problem. Slap your fellow students because you're the head girl, you'd still slap your employees or subordinates if you're in a position to tomorrow, you'd become a governor and still try to approach issues with violence.
