Why

1. A fast Fingerprint scanner on the back of the Phantom 5, which makes your phone more secure and makes it seamless to unlock the Phantom 5, and which the Gionee M5 does not have, yeah the M5 plus but not the M5.

2. The Tecno Phantom 5 has a 1080 x 1920 pixels (401 pixels per inch (PPI) density) screen while the Gionee M5 has a 720 x 1280 pixels (~267 PPI pixel density), really dont know why Gionee keeps putting this on a 5.5 inch screen. The Phantom 5 thus looks sharper and cleaner in this respect.

3. Whilst they both run on Mediatek chipsets, The Phantom 5 definitely clocks higher speeds with a 1.5GHz Octa-core ( Cortex-A53 CPU matched with a Mediatek MT6753 (Mali-T760 MP4 GPU) chipset as opposed to the Gionees 1.3 GHz Quad-core (4) Cortex-A53 matched with a Mediatek MT6735 (Mali-T720MP2 GPU).

These things make a lot of difference, trust me, i have had the priviledge of using both phones, and even though the Gionee may last a little bit longer due to its battery life, you would have a better experience with the Phantom 5, it really is a premium smart phone.The Gionee M5 plus would be better compared to the Phantom 5, not the M5.
