Enugu—The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has asked Igbo to boycott Fulani cattle to avoid cases whereby Fulani herdsmen would infiltrate their towns and villages to kill them and rape their women.
IPOB also asked Ndigbo to grow their own local cows which were in abundance at Abakaliki, in Ebonyi State, Nsukka in Enugu State and Obudu in Cross River State.
In a statement signed by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, the organisation said, “After putting our acts together, IPOB discovered that the Fulani herdsmen are determined to exterminate the lives of Biafrans through their herdsmen.
“We in the IPOB worldwide are calling on all Biafrans to stop eating Fulani cows and stop patronizing them. They will leave our land and stop raping our women and girls and they will stop killing our men because of our wives and girls.
“We discovered that these Fulani herdsmen are not ordinary people but Boko Haram insurgents who were trained by their brothers. We are calling on Biafrans to start eating goat meat, chickens and fish.
“Again, all Biafrans should start rearing their local cows. We have them at Abakiliki in Ebonyi State, Nsukka in Enugu State and Obudu Ranch in Calaber, Cross River State in abundance.
“If we Biafrans implement this without patronizing them again, they will leave our land without molestations because they were equipped with guns and we Biafrans don’t have guns and ammunition. “We also know that Hausa/Fulani don’t eat much of cow meat but have you asked yourselves questions why they don’t eat red meat?
“IPOB reminds you about what the Hausa/Fulani did in Agatu, Benue State and in Delta State where they kidnapped a traditional ruler and killed him and in Enugu and Ebonyi states where they ravaged, killed, maimed and raped our women and girls.”
Catalyst for new Biafra
Meantime, wife of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB and Director of Radio Biafra, Mrs. Uchechi Okwu-Kanu has said that the arrest and continued incarceration of her husband is a catalyst for new Biafra agitation.
In a statement from United Kingdom made available toVanguard,Mrs. Kanu said: “The absence of my husband is mind-bending, it is inexplicable. I am practically a zombie but I am holding up, but it has not been easy since October 2015 when he was arrested in Lagos.
“The arrest of Nnamdi Kanu is the catalyst driving the new agitation. Hence, what could have taken years to achieve in terms of awareness and mobilization was achieved within a short frame of time. And this is testimony to the fact that IPOB through Radio Biafra did a lot of ground work prior to the arrest.
“If you recall, I mentioned in December that most people are awakened by the call of this cause but you will agree with me now that almost every being in the whole world has Biafra on their lips both ‘for’ and‘against.’”

Like it was stated in the post, there are cattle in Ebonyi, Enugu and Obudu which are not Fulani's. We all just need to shift our attention to those. They'll leave if we stop patronising these tsetse flies.

What we need to understand is that the Fulani tsetse flies cattle are not the only ones in the country. There are others though the Fulani are the largest supplier.

Cattle, goat and whatever, how sustainable?

You see, I'll give my 100% support to anything that can bring an instant cure to all these Fulani bruhaha.

They seem to value cow more than people and I see no reason why such should be condoned.

But boycotting their cow? I don't see that happening in a decade because those you mentioned are quite insignificant compared to the demand. And insisting on that would literally mean asking people to stop eating meat.

It might sound easy to you and me, perhaps because our minds are made up, besides I don't even eat beef. But what about the people out there? Will they easily buy the idea and abstain from meat because that is what it translates into?

By and by, we shall confront the Fulani Jihardists from all fronts. Boycott is a powerful tool but our people need education.

Ebonyi, Enugu and Cross River. If husbandry can be taken serious in these states then I believe we can be self sufficient and rid ourselves of these tsetse flies called Fulani.

It's not as if boycotting their beef isn't possible. It's very easy if only we want. The big question is, are we ready?

Can we make the little sacrifice required here?

How many of the affected persons are as provoked as you are right now?

Even among the bereaved, how many would accept to snub the beef when next they stumble on it in the market just because the community have chosen to tread that route to curtail the menace of the devil? Don't forget that beef has good price advantage now talk more of then.

And what can one say about the poor conduct of the so-called leaders; haven't you anticipated their possible reaction should people adopt this measure?

Mindful of these, I conclude that boycotting the beef is going to be difficult.

I understand how you feel. It is natural to feel bad when things go wrong. Crime is being nurtured into abomination right before our very eyes and the authorities seem comfortable with that.

I read one post by noblezone, advocating for self defense amongst the affected regions, a couple of days ago and I could tell that these killings have gone beyond raising animals and making money. Something scary is hidden in act.
