Ebola Re-emerges In Guniea As Fifth Victim Dies by UPDISTIC7: 9:15pm On Mar 23, 2016
A Fifth person has succumbed to the deadly virus scourge in Guinea. The virus many had believed had been eradicated finally reared its head again in the country of Guinea. So far it claiming Four lives and recently a Fifth person. The recent death is already giving concern to neighbouring countries as preparations are on top gear to prevent it from spreading.

The recent case occurred in Macenta prefecture, about 200 kilometres from the village of Korokpara where the four other recent Ebola-related deaths occurred, Fode Sylla Tass, spokesman for National Coordination of the Fight against Ebola in Guinea said.

Since March 2014, West Africa has experienced the largest outbreak of Ebola in history, with multiple countries affected. On March 17, 2016, Sierra Leone marked the end of its recent flare-up of Ebola, after 42 days had passed since the last person confirmed to have Ebola tested negative for a second time.
With this recent deaths from ebola, The West Africa countries will be placed on high alert. Countries like Liberia closed its border with Guinea on Tuesday as a precaution against the latest outbreak.

The man, who died from the virus is yet to identified, was reported to have visited Korokpara recently and had been in direct contact with the first patients, Tass said. He was buried in the village of Makoidou without any sanitary precautions.

Burials for bodies of the deceased are often washed, have been a main cause of transmission of Ebola, which has killed at least 11,300 people in West Africa since 2013 in the worst outbreak on record.

Guinea remains one of the worst hit countries, and was declared Ebola free in December, however World Health Organisation had warned about possible reoccurence.

Guinea’s Ebola coordination unit has traced an estimated 816 people who may have come into contact with the first four recent victims.
With the flare-up over 800 ebola contacts are currently been monitored
