An investigation shows that Nigeria is the next target of Al Qaeda terror group
– The security analyst advised Nigerian government to increase police visibility
Security expert Dr. Ona Ekhomu, has warned that terror group Al Qaeda plans to attack the most populated Nigerian cities – Lagos and Anbuja.
Ekhomu in a statement claimed that the attacks are imminent advising government and corporate security executives to take immediate proactive steps in preventing the onslaught.
The statement reads in part: “Such a terrorist attack on a target of opportunity could result in mass fatalities …the most likely target cities are Abuja or Lagos.”
“Intelligence analysis conducted from open source materials on the current phase of implacable jihad mounted by Al Qaeda on West African nations shows Nigeria is in the next logical target for an active shooter attack by a six man hit team of terrorists.”
“The odds are in the favour of the terrorists to cause mass deaths in these attacks.
“I urge the government to increase police visibility and also inject plain clothes police assets into high risk facilities.
“The Al Qaeda threat is more serious than the Boko Haram threat and it is hoped that the government and corporate security will take this threat more seriously and act to prevent spectacular attacks against soft and unprepared targets.”
He further asked the Nigerian Immigration Service, the Nigeria Police Force and employers of labor to commence a program which could be tagged “Operation I’m a Nigerian
According to the expert, this program should engage the peremptory and aggressive demand for proof of Nigerian citizenship from individuals anytime there is an interaction with persons who appear suspicious.
Al Qaeda is the oldest terrorist groups. It was founded by Osama bin Laden in the 1980s and responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the USA.
