The 6-year-old girl who is suspected to have been kidnapped by unknown suspects has been found dead. The Nigeria police force said that Gift Olumowe‚ 6 was found on Thursday morning‚ in an abandoned shrine in Imoga, Akoko-edo Local government area of Edo state state. “He was found dead with some parts of her body dismembered. Her parents have been called in to identify the remains‚” police said. A search operation for Gift Olumowe was launched on the 11th of March when she was abducted from her grandmother’s residence at Obawale, while playing outside the residence with her baby sister. “Emilia Njoku was preparing dinner for the kids when she heard people screaming outside. She quickly ran out to find that her granddaughter had been kidnapped. Police were notified and a search operation was launched for the girl. No arrests have been made and it is not immediately known whether police are still treating the case as a suspected kidnapping.
