Nigeria failed to take their chance of going top of group G of the 2017 AFCON Qualifiers after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Egypt at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on Friday.

Nigeria took the lead in the first half through Oghenekaro Etebo and kept to their lead until Mohammed Salah got the equaliser late in the game to give Egypt a point in Nigeria,

Nigeria missed series of chances to getting a wining goal one of them was when Moses was denied by a goal-line clearance from the Egyptians.

Alex Iwobi,Victor Moses and Umar Aminu all came in the second half while Super Eagles started with Watford’s Odion Ighalo and Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho.

The second leg comes up in four days’ time in Alexandria, Egypt.
