puff adder.. Though it's widely eaten in my area but it's very very poisonous.. It's venom paralysis one's CNS within minutes. He will just bite it's prey once and crawl away, but once it's prey is dead, it will pinpoint it's location with it's special sensory organ no matter where it is.. I've eaten it before, tastes like fish very delicious. I've killed so many of them

thats puff adder not viper.. Viper is usually smaller and in black and brown color, it can also jump. It's very poisonous and not edible. But this is puff adder, very poisonous but edible. Usually fat and in black and yellow. Both are very slow in movement..

Adder has different patterns o. They are darker with tinier stripes. No subtype of adder is quite like this. This is a constrictor/minor python family snake. The pattern here is almost like our grandmothers' clothe pattern back in the day.

Quite commonly found during this early raining season n bush clearing period like this.

Minor one, not by size.

There are many boar constrictor/python-like snake. They don't grow quite so long/big.

I hv seen this snake handled live. Was brought home n later killed. No danger whatsoever.
Puff adder has a better camouflage, matching soil/dry leaves much more closely.

You are correct, its a young Python not a puff adder, the coloration and patterns on your its skin easily gives it away..
