apps will go but files would remain..just reinstall windows on the current partition without formatting...after which u can copy ur files from c:\windowsold after which u can delete the windows old folder

Its that easy actually. That type of installation moves your previous installation to another folder entirely. As a result the previous installation no longer contains "active" windows files. You can delete them as simply as you can delete any other file on your computer.

The gateway computer MAY have a faulty earphone jack that's not cutting off and on the sound properly. Does it have a sound utility software that displays the status of the audio jacks? When you unplug the jack, doe the utility indicate that its unplugged?

Two issues. My gateway doesn't speak out, only works with an earpiece. A tech guy says there's no speaker inside but when I pull out the earpiece, sound comes out for like 3 seconds before it stops again. How do I fix this?


Second is my hp G7, it's dark, like I could see stuff on the display with a flashlight. The same tech guy says it's the screen flex(which I've ordered) could he be right?

The HP issue could be a faulty backlight module. I think you can replace the module independently. If not, you might need to replace the entire screen.

dude it actually is as long as its not the parent windows folder..u could also delete it via disk clean up under c: drive properties.dont argue about things u r not sure of
