One happened in Lagos 15 years ago as at the time vigilante factions had a foothold on the state; thievery was at an all time high so almost every street had a vigilante sect protecting lives and property.
A few days to Easter, everyone was in the holiday spirit. OPC boys caught a handful of thieves the night before and decided to crucify them in accordance to the season. It was a gory sight and the pictures were pasted on TELL magazine same way they always had one or two macabre pictures to display every other week. I was horrified; the image burned into my memory to stay forgotten till I saw the picture posted here. Three living human beings placed on a cross with their feet cut off - it was customary of OPC boys to cut off culprits' feet before killing them because it was believed charms existed then that allowed criminals disappear in plain sight. The remaining two who weren't fitted in crosses because only three bodies were needed [Jesus, Dismas and Gesmas] had their bodies dumped beside the crucified three. Till today no investigation has been carried out on that extra-judicial murder.

If you see the story I posted you'd understand why I jumped to the conclusion. A country human beings are crucified would see nothing wrong with crucifying a "dumb animal".
