I am dating igbo girl for last 2yrs now, we both love each other. She told her mother about the affair, but she refused vehemently telling her daughter that she cannot continue with me cos am a yoruba boy, she is only daughter and she is going to give her to an igbo man. She told me further that it is abomination. What do i do?

Glad to know not all Igbo people love money so much. At least their sense of belonging comes before any financial whim!

An Igbo man with more money than you, perhaps? Which parent wouldn't want their children to marry someone who is financially stable within their ethnic group?
Whats your point?

Allow her mum to sale to the highest bidder IF the money is the issue here.

What you want is different from what your parents think suits you. Your parents will definitely want you to be married an educated, financially stable person. Whom you love might be a different thing altogether.
My point is, don't blame the parents for wanting any of those things for their child.

Their daughter's happniess shld come 1st, if she loves him, wants to marry him, she shld be allowed to do that, its her life, her marriage.
Yes education and finance are gr8 but they will not make a good marriage life if the love is not there.

Sometimes parents shld step back and allow their kids to make their choices, make mistakes and learn from it.
