The best way to know more on this matter is to encourage yourself to share your ideas and knowledge. We all learn from each other here, based on our experiences.

@Pahtakee

Thanks so much, you really feel me. Visa.lagos@fco.gov, thats the address i've been mailing, three times now, but its the same story. To say I'm fed up is an understatement, thank God for the fact that I'm not stranded here, I'm working
in a comfortable establishment, married some months ago and happy, but the school fees i've paid, the money I spent on the appeal and the fact that I won, its injustice if i'm denied again.

Putting my trust in God anyway, and waiting for any suggestion that may help. Wish I have home office e-mail,phone no. or address. Thanks so much.

@Akolawole

Thanks for ur response too, wish I know what is wrong. The next in take is April some weeks to this time,my admission was deffered till April (imagine).
The first application was in Lagos here.

Waiting for your advise. Thanks.

This is gross madness from BDHC in respect to your case. I have series of suggestion.

1. Contact your school, give them your appeal number, your student registration status, tell them you have won your appeal and it is only the Embassy that is delaying in your case. Attach the decision of the immigration Judge to the letter you send to your Uni. Indicate to your Uni that they should send a fax to the Embassy in Lagos that they are expecting you for this April admission.

2. Continually bombard the Embassy with emails. In this case, you have to plead that there is urgency attached to your case. Make the subject of your emails very catching. I would suggest that when you draft the letter, put them on the defensive for how they have made emotionally depressed and psychologically disturbed over how your case has been prolonged over time. Then you passionately plead that you do not want to loose this opportunity you have to have a better future for tomorrow.

I hope this works. I am sure my Ogas would have something more enterprising than mine to state here.

Let us know how it goes. And please keep it going at the place of prayer. We can only try what we know as humans but the heart of Kings is in Gods hands.

All the best.

I wonder where it went too. It seems you have recent findings at your hold to unleash for us. I am also looking for stimulating debates here. This section seems to be the only place I feel comfortable in to come and expend my leisure time while on the internet.

Hows your proposal coming up? Are you through with it now? cheesy For me, NOT YET. Yet I come here to be arguing with people. grin

hello everybody.

i am equally sick and tired of the bhc lagos, im in the same shoe with brownbaby and

didnt think it will take this long for them to get thier copy of the determination.

its close to 5 months too. The same story all the time. Does anyone have a number in

uk i can call? I did not get any number or contact anymore from ariston, dont know why.

i have bombarded them with emails, calls and even dropped a copy of my determination

at the high comm.

Dont know what action to take next!
Re: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by pahtahkee: 8:41pm On Mar 26, 2008
@ neksbabay,

I don't even know what to say here again. All I know is that the British Deputy High Commission VI Lagos is the second busiest consulate in the world for UK immigration.

Maybe the rest can provide an alternative solution to this problem.
Re: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by bigbumper(f): 10:07pm On Mar 26, 2008

do a search on this thread circa muyiwabanks, you would see information regarding who to write to and what to write. It is somewhere around the first few pages of this thread.

Hasn't this always been the case? Is this part of the new immigration changes being brought in. I have been following up on the Tier 1 but not working holiday visa.

Not always so. In some cases, there have been request to leave the country first before changing their immigration status. However, now it is compulsory to leave before having a change in your status.

I guess the Home Office is feeling too much pressure at the moment from applicants and they are seriously having problems with immigration status of immigrants in the UK. Not to even talk of how they make glory on their Border and Immigration website of how many illegal immigrants are deported these days from the UK.

These days also, immigrants are as well looking into other European countries more importantly because of the ever rising power of Euro value in the global market.

It just keeps getting more complicated and more confusing. undecided

@Pahtakeee,Akolawole,BP,VOR,Funkbaby.

Can you guys please clarify this new sponsor letter which has to be filled by uk sponsor is it applicable to a student visa applicant too, cause on the website it states for visiting and stuffs like that but they were kinda silent on it for student visa application whose sponsors are in the UK.So my question is ,is sponsorship form required to be filled for student visa applicant who has a sponsor in the uk tooo?
Re: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by pahtahkee: 2:01pm On Mar 27, 2008
@ ty4real,

Now I know it is time for me to upgrade myself back into UK immigration matters. I have not seen the sponsor form, I have to search for it on the internet and know what it is all about.

Probably others may have an idea about it and how applicable it is.

How you dey sir?

1) If not because i had a good afternoon, i would have cyber-slap you. I will always distinguish between fact and opinion. Changes to immigration rules dont come to you. You fish for it.

2) Like i always say, we are not to teach anyone, we advise based on problems on appeals. why must we be waisting our time to be teaching even Visa agents on Nairaland who have benefited immensely form Pataki and his friends.

The sponsorship criteria is relevant for employers who wish to employ migrants under the new points based system. For students, it is the College or University that applies to be a sponsor and thereafter sends a sponsorship certificate to successful applicants. A bit complicated i have to say, but make sure you check the home office website regularly to update yourself. The new Tier 4 for students is set to be activated from 2009 so no date is set yet. I assume you can still apply now based on existing rules.  Once a date is set and an announcement is made, then the new changes come into effect.

Really?, shocked shocked shocked. Gosh i am glad, i am over that phase finally. cheesy. As at the time, i started my Masters, some of the current changes had started creeping in like the "ATAS" thing.

I am not sure about that thread but will check it out. Since I started working my attention has turned from student visa category to working visas catergories and "other" catergories outside normal immigration rules, tongue
Re: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by pahtahkee: 5:01pm On Mar 27, 2008
UK immigration is going to experience a total overhauling of its procedures. With the introduction of the 5tier system, I wonder how UK immigration visa agents will survive now. undecided cheesy
[li]Tier 1: For highly skilled migrants, entrepreneurs, investors, and graduate students. This is designed to replace the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP), the Entrepreneur and Investor schemes, and the International Graduates Scheme.[/li]
[li]Tier 2: This is for skilled workers who have a job offer. This tier will encompass the current UK Work Permit rules.[/li]
[li]Tier 3:
For a limited numbers of lower skilled workers to fill temporary shortages in the labour market.[/li]
[li]Tier 4: Students.[/li]
[li]Tier 5: For youth mobility and temporary workers, such as those who come under Working Holiday agreements with other countries.[/li]
For the sponsorship form, it is your employer in the UK or the educational institution into which you are coming in that fills the form validating that you are truly enabled to follow the program in which you intend to come into the UK for.

Liliana,

Thank you so much and welcome to the VAS (Vor appreciation society) smiley
I am most flattered with your kind words. I am also glad to know that everything
has turned out fine for you and you are hopefully settling down in the UK.
Have you managed to obtain your dream job?

These days I only make the occasional guest appearance on the board as other
matters now take precedence. My son has now been joined by a sister and madam
needs all the help she can get.

Anyway I am available for any advice I can give, I will e-mail you IDC.
