Icon4s:We shouldn't be quick to throw him away. He is still 22yrs old. Look at Victor Anichebe, he hasn't scored a goal in 3 years. Over the last few weeks, his form have made people ask for his recall. Football have thought me to be patient and humble, nobody knows what tomorrow could bring. Imagine if Villareal bought him next season after the run around he gave them in the Europa league. Even you will call for his recall if he scores a brace against Osasuna. |

I knew this will make news in Nigeria.... Kameni always seem to shine when in goal against Real madrid and FC Barcelona even from his days at Espanyol... Looollll **watched the barca vs malaga game... Kameni was unreal!!!!** But I trust Nigeria's attack to score any goalie in the world even if you're De Gea or Neuer...... ....................................................................... Cameroonian Goalkeeper Frustrates Barcelona, Nigerians Happy He Is No Longer Playing For Cameroon The fine form of Malaga’s Cameroonian shot stopper Kameni Idris Carlos against Barcelona in the La-Liga played a big role in helping the modest Spanish side hold the Catalan giants to a 0-0 draw. Kameni frustrated Barcelona with top draw saves which frustrated the likes of Neymar, Francisco Alcacer, Arda Turan and co from scoring in the game despite his team finishing the game with 9 men. Fans of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Cameroon’s next opponent in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers were however happy that the 32 year old is no longer the first choice goalkeeper for the Cameroonian national team. Most of them expressed their joy on social media with posts that the highly rated goalkeeper won’t be in goal when Super Eagles take on Cameroon in August 2017 in back to back World Cup qualifiers. He has been in the international wilderness since losing his first team spot to Souleyman Hamidou at the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. Although he was left out subsequent squads for allegedly trying to orchestrate disorder in 2015. Coach Volker Finke handed him a call up for the game against Niger Republic in Cameroon’s first World Cup 2018 qualifiers, but since his departure, the Malaga shot stopper has not been considered by new manager Hugu Broos. Broos prefers 20 year old Sevilla shot stopper Joseph Ondoa to the 32 year old, so far Ondoa has kept goal for the team in their last two qualifiers, thanks to his fine form for his loan side Gimnastic de Tarragona in the Spanish second division. Hapoel Be’er Sheva Nwakaeme Set To Be Handed Shock Call Up To Super Eagles By Rohr According to reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com Hapoel Be’er Sheva forward Anthony Nwakaeme could be handed a call up to the Nigeria senior national team for their upcoming friendly games. Coach Gernot Rohr has been monitoring the performances of the of the 27 year old in Israel, and going by his fine form in the Europa League and in the domestic league, Rohr could hand him a call up. The coach took a liking to the forward after watching him in an Europa League game and penciled him down as one of the players, he would call up in the future. Yesterday Nwakaeme took his goal tally for the Israeli side to six for the season, netting in their 5-1 thrashing of Hapoel Haifa in an Israeli league game. Already his club teammate John Ogu has been handed a recall to the team, but if Nwakaeme is called up, it will be the first team he has been called up to the Nigeria squad at any level. Like Anichebe, Rohr’s Target Olarenwaju Kayode On Target In Austria The two Nigerian players coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr is planning on including in his squad for the upcoming friendlies of the team were both on target for their respective teams. Austria Wien’s Olarenwaju Kayode and Victor Anichebe of Sunderland are two players high on the manager’s wishlist of players who will increase competition for spots in his team in attack. As exclusively reported by Owngoalnigeria.com, Rohr has plans of meeting with Victor Anichebe later this month in England, to have talks with the 28 year old over the possibility of a recall to the team following his fine form for Sunderland. Anichebe gave Rohr more reasons to give him a look in with a brace for Sunderland in their 3-0 win over Hull City, his third goal in his two last game, and his first brace in 10 years. Former youth international Olarenwaju Kayode also proved Rohr is right by penciling him down for some Super Eagles test games with his 5th goal of the season as his Austrian side Austria Wien ran out 2-0 winners over Reid. Nigeria Olympic Star Amuzie Gets First Team Squad Number At Sampdoria The left full back of the Nigeria Rio 2016 team Stanley Amuzie has been officially promoted to the first team of Serie A side Sampdoria, and could make his debut soon after picking up a first team squad number. Amuzie joined Sampdoria in the summer from Portuguese second division side Olhanense, but he has been restricted to playing games for the Primavera side although he has made the bench for the main team in league games. However it appears all of that is about to change after the full back was handed a first team squad number in jersey number 3. A number he proudly dispayed on his official facebook wall. He is in contention to play for the first team when they take on Sassuolo, this afternoon at their home ground, the Stadio Luigi Ferraris Stadium. The former Flying Sports Football Academy of Lagos graduate has two senior caps for Nigeria, and played in all of the games for the U23s at the Rio 2016 Olympics. Orji Okonkwo (2015 under 17) should be on the bench for Bologna today as he was named in the team for the game... Another boy on the up, it is only a matter of time before his first game in the Serie A. He has been shining for the youth team and is now pushing for a place in the first team. 2 Likes |

Icon4s:I don't know if Ighalo and Success would have done better than him but I've watched Kayode from the U17s to the U20. In WYC in held in Turkey, he was our stand out player. Most of his mates from that team are currently in the super Eagles, players like Moses Simon, Wilfred Ndidi, Kingsley Madu, Shehu Abdulahi, Aminu Umar. In 2013 at that tournament, Kayode was a bigger talent and almost propelled the team on his own in that tournament. One thing I like about Kayode is his competitive spirit, hard work and never say die attitude which have which have seen him get to his current levels. At 16,he left home to sign up at the Asec academy. Not many teenagers will leave home to an unknown African country with language barriers to play football at such age. Even when he had paper issues in Israel, he still didn't drop his head. I give him top marks for his hard work ethics. We need players with such mentality to propel the super eagles in Russia and especially in Qatar where I expect us to capture the trophy. 2 Likes |

tbaba1234:i wish he plays for us too. One thing I sense is that his heart is not with us. The parents just want to play safe. This could be one of the reasons why TheGoodJoe had always insisted on calling players who have already declared their readiness to wear the green whit green. This is also a wake-up call for all of us to insist that the system changes her orientation. We keep on looking else where because our system has failed us comparatively. We can raise all the stars here without looking else where. It is not about money, it is about the will power to do so. 1 Like 1 Share |

Nigeria U23 Midfield Star Still Clubless Despite Rio 2016 Heroics The club career of Nigeria U23 midfield dynamo Usman Muhammed is yet to get underway despite playing in almost all of Nigeria’s game at the Rio 2016 Olympics where Nigeria won bronze. Muhammed signed a two year contract with Portuguese side Clube Desportivo Nacional popularly known as Nacional da Madeira in February from Nigeria Professional Football League side FC Taraba. However he didn’t play a single game for the team before heading to the Olympics with Nigeria, with some reports claiming it was due to issues bothering on work permit. However shortly after the Olympics, he terminated his contract with Nacional da Madeira due to complications surrounding the deal, and it later emerged that the issues surrounding his transfer was the reason why FIFA blocked him from making his official debut. Since then the 21 year old has been clubless, despite his claims of strong interest in his services from another Portuguese side Vitoria Setubal in August. owngoalnigeria.com/2016/11/20/nigeria-u23-midfield-star-still-clubless-despite-rio-2016-heroics/ |

Nigeria And Holland Set To Battle Over Another Full Back In Nigel Ogidi Nwankwo Of ADO Den Haag Following unsuccessful attempts to lure the duo of Tyronne Ebuehi and Kingsley Ehizibue from the Netherlands. The international future of Dutch wonderkid Nigel Ogidi Nwankwo is sure going to spark another war between Nigeria and the Netherlands going by recent reports gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com. 17 year old Nwankwo plays for the U-19s of Dutch side ADO Den Haag and has been tip to represent the Netherlands at U-17 level but recent reports suggest contacts has been established with Nigeria where his parents hail from. We gathered one of his family member sounded out his Nigerian roots to a member of the football family in Nigeria who has now set the wheel in motion to lure the talented teen to Nigeria. Comfortable as a left full back, winger or central defender he is regarded as one of the best left full back under the age of 18 in the Netherlands according to a report on Haaglandenvoetbal.nl. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have been very busy of late luring talented players with Nigerian roots to switch allegiance to the Nigeria national team, and so far they are making efforts to lure about four players ahead of the resumption of games in the World Cup 2018 qualifiers. owngoalnigeria.com/2016/11/20/nigeria-and-holland-set-to-battle-over-another-full-back-in-nigel-ogidi-nwankwo-of-ado-den-haag/

SOKARI HOPES TO EXTEND 6-GAME UNBEATEN RUN WITH TUNISIAN CLUB Sokari Kingsley Sokari has said he hopes his Tunisian club CS Sfaxien of Tunisia extend a six-match unbeaten run today at Club Bizertin. Former Enyimba midfielder Sokari watched the first three matches of his club on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury, but he is now back in action as he has played all the last three matches for CS Sfaxien before the international break and has got an assist to his credit. Sokari, who has been the creative force behind the success of his club this season, has also been talking tough about his return to the national team, promising to shine to capture the attention of the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr. "I have been working hard since I returned from injury that kept me out of three matches at the beginning of the season,” he said. "Being a regular starter in my club is enough fact that my hard work is paying off. "I will now double my effort to ensure that I am recalled by the national team coach. "I am sure I have the qualities to be in the national team.” Source: http://africanfootball.com//news/665376/Sokari-hopes-to-extend-6-game-unbeaten-run-with-Tunisian-club 1 Like |

Anichebe is getting better - Moyes Former Manchester United Coach has showered praises on in-form Nigerian striker who on Saturday increased his goals tally to three in the Premier League this season. David Moyes who now handles Sunderland said he was delighted with the performances of Victor Anichebe whose brace on Saturday helped the Black Cats away from the bottom spot on the EPL log. Moyes said: "He was immense today (Saturday), probably even better than he was (against Bournemouth last time out). Victor has got this capability of doing it. He needs to be loved and I think the supporters are helping him because he wants that. "The supporters here are enjoying him and I hope they keep backing him. But he is a handful and on his day, if we can keep him fit, he is a really powerful boy." Going forward, Moyes has predicted that Anichebe will be a hit on Wearside after seeing him blast the club off the foot of the Premier League table. TheSuperNerd:Exactly, the world cup in Russia should be somewhat of a dress rehearsal for the assault in Qatar. Just like the Germans did, using the 2006/2010 world cup to build a team that went all the way in Brazil. I so much believe we can go all the way in Qatar. The climatic conditions and the neutrality of the venue (not being in Europe or South America), its a perfect stage for us to grab the thing. Looking forward, I don't know if Gernot Rohr will be the man to lead us to Qatar not because of competence but age(he will be well over 70 in 2022). I see Rohr as the Moses who will lay a solid foundation for the next man to lead us to the promised land. |
