Well if they had been good for their countries of birth they would have represented them including the ones currently with the SE like Ajayi, Balogun, Ekong etc.
Football development in Nigeria is just starting to improve especially at academy level, even in the SE only a few of the players represented a Nigerian clubside at the Premier league. A lot of them were snapped up directly from academies.
