forgiveness: Statistically speaking, Ejike, 4goals 4assists as opposed to Olayinka's 5goals and zero assists. He still Trump's Olayinka, but that said, I would take Olayinka ahead of Lookman |

TheGoodJoe: The point is that in direct competition for a single place up top Vardy is better. No argument there. |

wayodude: Vardy just gets more playing time. I believe if Iheanacho has the kind of game time Vardy is getting, he will do better. Nacho offers the team more than Vardy. Vardy is all running and finishing. Nacho offers more in hold up, dropping deep and passing. Also fantastic finishing. 4 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: Lol.. But you were the one that tagged Rodgers a genius.. I'm asking once again if you still maintain that idea This man signed so many players during his time with Liverpool but was completely clueless on how to utilise most of them... |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:05pm On Dec 27, 2021 |
Danielnino00: I believe I have replied this repeatedly. Before Rodgers joined Leicester City, I said I want Iheanacho to work with him because he is a tactical genius. Rodgers only draw back is his sentimental choices of players. That is exactly how I put it. He is a tactical genius. But, sentimental draw back. Before he came to Leicester City, I knew Iheanacho will have playing time problem working with him. However, I know Nacho will benefit tactically working with him. That is how the whole DRILLS talk started. I wanted Nacho to benefit from him in training. I also said, after a season or two, Nacho should leave. Why? Because I know he will not get playing time. You need playing time to show quality after learning in training. So nothing has changed. |

Danielnino00:Rodgers can set the team up that Nacho will be banging goals for fun. He can set up the team with Nacho and Daka to cause havoc. He knows the tactical side of things. However, he won't because of his sentimental draw back and will want to accommodate Barnes in the team. |

This new coach is very corrupt. Sacking Rohr was a wrong move he doesn't deserve to be sacked.. He would have done better with the selection. Nwakaeme should have made the list ahead of chukweze and Echijile ahead of Aina. And what is out of form osimhen doing in the list? None sense |

This 2022 better set things in orser dor him asap. Else, we'll never take him serious. Two Major Tourneys and i hope its the catapult he needs to turn this around and leave Leicester. |

Are we back to blaming Nacho again? I thought we blame him majorly for Lacknof ambition and not the game time he's getting. That's never and is never his fault but Rodgers. This cycle is rotten now. Nawa o. |

MetalJigsaw: The nwakaeme case is actually sad. Here’s a player that has 6 goals and 6 assist at the same league Ahmed musa (1 goal in 17 games) is playing and he is ignored for Ahmed musa. They claimed that he was unimpressive in his 30 minutes cameo while the likes of musa, Simon has consistently been playing horribly for Nigeria while getting invited.. The Nigeria national team is just a minor version of our environment. Biased! 5 Likes 1 Share |

forgiveness: Do u have a problem with ejuke Dude has been the best winger in the last 3 matches he played for the super eagles You simply evade criticising moses simon and now you're berating ejuke that have been better in this last 3 matches no coach will ignore such a player Equeavon is wiser, intelligent and smarter than you when it comes to team management and tactics.. He obviously fancy Ejuke in the AM role like some persons here thats why he list him as an AM more over the presence of Ejuke in the wing role still will make us not miss Samuel Kalu badly 2 Likes |

What many folks don't consider in this Iheanacho matter is a coach's preference. Brendan "the bottler" Rodgers is a bias and stubborn coach who tries to prove he is right thereby undoing himself in the process. Let's start with when Maddison was playing nonsense. The man stuck with him until Maddison picked up at the expense of the team's cohesion and results. Once he found out that Barnes was fit also, he did the same at the expense of Iheanacho. Who benches a top scorer because he doesn't fit into his formation? Why not transform your team into a purely attacking team with fluid foward passes rather than a counter attacking team that relies on a long flick to Jamie vardy? It's all clear for the eye to see. Iheanacho's woes in the EPL is not for lack of ability. He needs to leave leicester ASAP and look properly before leaping. Why sign a new contract with a club that still has Vardy he has to contend with? When will our boys learn? 4 Likes 1 Share |

Kog45:With the 3 matches he played for better part of the 2 he played so well and has fast become fans favourite for now he is ahead of many of the wingers as far as the SE is concerned I wasn't concerned of Samuel Kalu missing afcon list because Ejuke is there....he is direct, good dribbler like Kalu and more precise and disciplined Ejuke has the left wing covered. Lookman will have to wait for his time after afcon. He really needs to take his chances because the wing role and CF role is fully stocked right now The player that really never got his chance is olayinka he is an unselfish and skillful winger... I will blame rohr though he was never given enough chance...Rohr is a very conservative dude. Ejuke got the chance because of Covid 19 restrictions in cape verde that puts them on red list and also the injury to Kalu 2 Likes 1 Share |

I had sleepless nights over Eagles AFCON selection latestnews.ng Super Eagles interim coach, Austin Eguavoen, has admitted that he had sleepless night making his 298-man list for the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. The Eagles will face Egypt, Sudan and Guinea Bissau in Group D. The 2021 AFCON will hiold from January 9 to February 6, 2022, across five cities in Cameroon. Speaking ahead of the tournament, Eguavoen said he was aware of the threats posed by the seven-time champions. “Egypt are seven times winner and they are a team I have played against and coach against at the junior level. I know what they can bring to the table,” Eguavoen told the Nigerian Football Federation TV. “They are not a team you can push over also every team that has qualified for the AFCON are no pushover. We are going to do everything possible to see how we can actually analyse them individually and collectively and map out a strategy. That’s what you should expect them to do as well. “Nigeria is a big country and other teams will be planning as well. “I think I am better as a coach now because every day that counts matters and I have watched many coaches and I have learned because we learn every day. But the thing is your opponents determine how you set up your team. So, it’s going to be a different approach against Egypt and another against Sudan and Guinea Bissau.” “It was tough coming up with the final list and since I got the news (of taking Eagles to Cameroon) I would say I don’t sleep well because of expectations but I know not everybody wants us to succeed because they are in doubt but we will do everything humanly possible to put a smile on the faces of Nigerians” Eguavoen added. The 56-year-old also spoke on the team’s chances of winning the AFCON despite his short time with them. He said, “There is a team on the ground and I think this team is ready to compete anytime they are called upon. The time is quite short and we all know that but every coach has his own style and philosophy. “With the quality of players we have I don’t think we will struggle but the only thing is there won’t be time for any friendly and that’s when you actually assess your team if they can actually do what you want or what the technical crew want. Be it as it may we just have to do what we need to do. “The players have what it takes to win the AFCON but the journey of a thousand miles starts with a step and this is exactly what we are going to do. From day one we set up a meeting, we have to face the reality and talk to one another. Talk about where we want to be and about our goals. We are going to work hard to achieve those goals. “So, I believe we have all it takes to go all the way but we have to take it game after game.” The Eagles will take on Egypt in their opening game of the tournament on January 11 at the Stade Roumdé Adjia. 3 Likes |
