Same mistake.

An Ndidi-Onyeka-Aribo MF won't be able to orchestrate plays through the middle or switch plays at will. Una no dey learn. But it's fine. Keep judging football based on where player A plays or where Player B features while you ignore the actual and specific skillsets of the lads involved.

Una no dey ever Learn. grin

So if there’s no Nwakali to orchestrate play through the middle or switch plays at will, nobody else can do it, did I get you?

It's moments like these that validate Mourinho. It's moments like these that make him look like a world class coach even if he's probably not.

Manchester United got rid of him because of style of play, even after winning the UEL. Where are they now?

If you want to play sweet attacking football, you need the right set of players.

Let me tell you something; The Super Eagles did not win those three matches because of any tactics. No, they won because Nigerians underrated them. Check the history, we perform best when our people doubt us. That way the players feel like they have something to prove.

Prior AFCON 2019, Ighalo said something during an interview. He said he loves it when people doubt him because it serves as some sort of motivation to prove them wrong. He went on to become the highest goal scorer in that tournament.

But once the praises start coming in, we press the self delete button. Our major problem is that evil spirit of over confidence that has plagued almost every Nigerian team I know of.

I hope we've learnt our lesson.

Fvckk who you think you are. Fvckk your sense of entitlement. Put your pride in the trash bin and play football. Football is a game of 11 men against 11 men. African teams no dey look face again. Everywhere is dry. Boys need to make a name for themselves. If you slip up, the hyenas will takeover.

Who am I kidding? We are not gonna learn shhiiit. We'll probably end up making the same mistakes again.

I'm done with my rant.

*drops mic* angry

That is why Mourinho is fourteen points behind Simeone Inzaghi's Inter Milan.

To many medicine after death analysis and I can see talks about our general midfield Marshall nwakali missing I don't know if he would have make any difference because iwobi Red card already don spoil show couple with Eguavoen just to focused about getting a goal at All cost forgetting that we where lite in the midfield as the Tunisians practically came to win the midfield battle, seat deep and play us on counter, get a goal and seal the game which worked for them perfectly and when dey see our keeper is lacking confidence dey result to outside shot because we had a compact defense, seeing the players crying well it good it shows how serious the lost hit them it will only make them strong going forward wink

TheSuperNerd:

I told you all Darkelf only put up his "pessimistic" strong wall of catastrophizing as a defence mechanism against any disappointment from this team.

Those who have followed his posts keenly as Darkelf and Blueelf will understand why I never was against his trolling.

Chief Icon4s also once took a Conservative view on our team when Osimhen was still rising as the next number 9. Icons wasn't too convinced about a lot of these young lads' durability as quality talents. He knew why he took that stance. He has seen generations of talents come and go that looked like world beaters when they first arrived on the scene only to fizzle out or fail to fulfill potential. But he never took his Conservative stance far shaa... even though they sounded not too encouraging at times. grin

In a way, we kinda need some "dark views" grin from time to time to keep us grounded but deep down I knew Darkelf (aka blueelf of red merseyside) was always and firstly a Super Eagles fan.

This Pessimistic stance is just his way of dealing with the loss and disappointment we all experience as fans when our team fail to meet expectations.

Darkelf.... thanks for the clarification but please.... don't vanquish your throne. I need you on that throne abeg so that the variety will continue. And so that the Carpentry football list updates will never cease doing its work. grin

Cheers to thee, the one and the only Elf of Darkness....

My guy my guy

Nerdie, you really understand me

I don't ever want to be disappointed again by the SE

That's why I don't keep my hopes up and think about the worst case scenario each game

I really wanted SE to win but guess what, my heart will heal easily because I have prepared it for the worst possible scenario and I mouthed it here often so we could prepare our hearts should in case it turns out badly

Guess I was right after all. But it is painful to be right

Of course! Nwakali was the best player of the tournament......... ACCORDING TO YOU.

Without him, Nigeria football can never progress..... ACCORDING TO YOU.

Besides, Nwakali is not bad but he is not as good as you want me to believe.

Even Onyeka can do better than him.

Prior to yesterday’s match, I have so much confidence in the SE and I still have. Unless the 3 group stage match was a fluke, which is not.

My fellow brothers and sisters, I know y’all disappointed, my heart went to this thread yesterday. Y’all take heart, the best is yet to come. We will all rejoice soonest.

Going forward, Poseiro or not, we want a coach who will help us play offensively. Let’s save our battery for Ghana.

Eberechi eze could have solve this issue of midfield for us the guy do us strong thing ,na awoniyi I pity pass no direct pass from the center to him awoniyi is not a bad striker he was just hustling for his own, no good cross from the wings no rebonce for him to score chukwueze and Moses shot was either too soft for the keeper or going high. Even our Last qualifer match against cape Verde no direct pass from the middle to oshimen and ighalo , even oshimen had to turn himself to a winger to pull a good cross to ighalo.

Let me school you a little

What makes you think Awoniyi won’t score 9 goals in the epl ?

But Dennis failed to score after playing 8 games or so at the bundesliga ,I am sure if we are to judge by that stats you will say he will never make it at the epl ,but dude found the epl easier and even scored at his debut .

Maybe we should say to score in the bundesliga is much more harder than the epl because Dennis could not score there grin

Very simple 90% of the time players who leave the Bundesliga find it very difficult to replicate that same form in the EPL. You can ask Timo Werner, Havertz, etc

Sometimes players have certain attributes that have not been utilised properly and positioned fit best advantage and a different good quality coach sees that and enhances those attributes and the player develops rapidly. That's what Ranieri had done for Dennis.

In addition players unable to have dominance in the EPL seem to do a lot better from the EPL even Championship in the Bundesliga.

Finally, look at his goals and his skill set will not give him competitive edge in the EPL. If you compare his goals to Osimhen goals and or Ighalo you will see what I mean.

Can't believe a time will come when I'll be jumping several pages on this thread grin

Make una calm down o.. It will take a while to get over this but we move...It happens... There's still a world cup qualification to prepare for..

The big question is who will lead the team?
I for once would like Eguavon to continue.. This Pseiro guy doesn't inspire much confidence with his CV...

Going forward, it'd be best we dump the two striker up front formation..4-4-2 or 4-2-4 or whichever..It's an outdated formation and it makes our midfield lean.. We need to go with a flexible three man midfield and three man front three.. I don't care who gets dropped, but this 2 man midfield won't get us far... Eguavon used it better than Rohr in the group stage, but the limitations were exposed yesterday...

Before we start getting it right at senior level we must change our understand and approach to football Okoye has no business with the Super eagles for now when we Afelokhai,Olorunleke Ojo and other goal keepers doing well in NPFL. Our obsession with European based players even when they are not matured enough is killing our football
Good.
Also, we need to pay attention players with a good first touch and ability to play in tight spaces when opposition bunkers. Many of our players are heavy legged.
