codemaniacs: 1. "Being gay is a mental problem" Please present your evidence for this. Over a thousand different animal species practice homosexuality (link to article below). Were all those animals abused when they were young, leading to them developing the "mental illness"? 2. Homophobia and racism are indeed in the same category. Why? They both involve hating on a community (defined as a group of people with a shared characteristic) because of natural features/ traits that they did not choose for themselves and cannot change even if they wanted to. 3. You say slavery, human sacrifice and killing of twins were not part of pre-colonial African culture? I don't mean to insult you, but did you do history/ civic education in secondary school? Political Science is my academic field and this is common knowledge. They were part of our culture. And you would know this if you went to a good secondary school. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.news-medical.net/amp/news/2006/10/23/1500-animal-species-practice-homosexuality.aspx&ved=2ahUKEwiq36rr7bz7AhVLiqQKHTFqAEIQFnoECC8QAQ&usg=AOvVaw20uJTIzJpYfYnr7WtrZFV9 2 Likes |

Curtisaxel10: I am not in support of killing people because they identify as g:ay. It is not proper. but g:ay practise is not just evil. It is an abuse, a violation of that which makes us human. A strange invention that stands against all things necessary for human progress. 9 Likes 1 Share |

Curtisaxel10: been g:ay is a mental problem.... Don't compare Humans to animals.. Humans have better brains and should be more intelligent than animals.. you also have just shown you yourself suffer from a mental problem because the people who are using you to push this g:ay agenda see you as lesser than animals that's why you're confidently comparing humans and animals. they are not in the same category... a g:ay person can be living in a place and no one will know that person is g:ay.... a black person can be noticed easier than a g:ay person.. slavery, human sacrifice and killing of twins were not part of African culture because if they were part of African culture there would have been a group of Africans who would have created Resistance to fight against such and if there was a Resistance then there would be wars between Africans which means due to wars Africans would have created deadlier weapons to fight themselves which means it would be impossible for colonial terrorists and thieves to invade Africa because all of Africa would war-ready... you can only invade people that are peaceful and happy because they don't have the weapons to fight back and are not ready and prepared to fight back.... if you think I'm telling lies then carry gun and go and invade army barracks or navy barracks or Aso Rock... 1 Like |

Curtisaxel10: Where do I start from. 1. One of the ways to stifle debate on any subject is to label proponents of alternative opinions as hateful. This strategy has now gone mainstream and one can literally lose one's livelihood if one says "biological males aren't women". Statements like this have been termed "transphobic". I'll advice that if you want to have a sincere and open conversation on the subject, reduce the usage of the word "phobic" or hateful especially when no one is openly advocating for violence against homosexual. 2. I think much of the argument is about the hypocrisy of the west. There seem to be a debate against Qatar because of their laws against homosexuality. Many of those who are asking that the laws of Qatar be respected as a sovereign nation aren't necessarily advocates of some of the extreme measures taken against gays. They do so understanding that if the reverse were the case, the west would defend its laws no matter how ridiculous they are. For instance, Polygamy is a criminal offence in the US, punishable by 5 year imprisonment. Should Africans start crusade against America for it's "extreme" stance on Polygamy? The hypocrisy also include how selective the west addresses or choose not to address matters considered "human rights violations" especially when it involves an "ally" or a country where they have a significant stake financially. The NBA for instance will speak about any other thing but never speak against the Ill treatment of the Uyghur Muslims in China. Why? Cause China has a big stake in the NBA. 3. Let's even assume that the laws against homosexuality shows "backwardness". When exactly did the US come around to it? For God's sake Donald Trump is the first US President to advocate for Same Sex marriage before his Inauguration. We are talking about less than a decade ago. Not even Barack Obama could publicly advocate for it during his campaigns. He would be for it today and almost immediately walk back his statements the next day. So, if we even agree that other nations should share this ideology, shouldn't consideration be given to them on something that became legal in the US less than a decade ago? 4. Also, people have legitimate concerns about where exactly the LGBTQI ++ advocacy stops. If people should be allowed to love what they love, where then does it stop? For instance, advocacy to rebrand pedophilia to become MAP (minor attracted persons) is already gaining mainstream attention in the US Some professors in universities in the US are already teaching it as such. Couldn't an argument be made that pedophiles can't control these urges and this is who they are. Couldn't the same argument be made for bestiality? So to discount these concerns as people just hating is simply shying away from the issues. 5. You submission on animals and homosexuality can be debated, but I'll rather not go into that. First they are generally termed "homosexual behaviours" as against terming animals homosexuals. These "observations" in animals gained mainstream attention about the same time homosexuality started gaining widespread acceptance. Some argue these are affected by what we call "observation bias. That said, The rationale for the argument is that if animals engage in a behavior, it must be natural and moral for humans do it too. Applying same logic to some other animal behavior like cannibalism proves how counterproductive the argument is. Animals eating their own kind has been observed in over a thousand animal species. Following the logic of the view would mean that cannibalism is natural and moral for humans. But that’s absurd! And so is the rationale that led to that absurd conclusion. Someone also said "Plus, sexual activity among animals is known to be used for purposes other than reproduction. Although humans can express themselves by speaking, writing, gesturing, and a multitude of other ways, animals are limited. Consequently, they are known to use sexual behavior to express a range of sentiments: social dominance, aggression, avoiding conflict, and many other emotions. That’s why many researchers think it’s naive to impose a human understanding of homosexuality onto animal behavior". This is already too long. Will stop here for now. 17 Likes 2 Shares |

Watching the WC preliminaries I mused to myself how Ghana robbed us of this one but on a second thought, I said to myself: it's not so much Ghana robbing us, as we failing over two legs to take the Ghanaian team to the cleaners or at least get the job done even if by the slightest of margins. 1 Like |

So, Qatar with their over-sufficient national team funding, world-class infrastructure, excellent administration and superb coaching staff still can't pull a decent performance against a hot-and-cold Ecuador? This proves that the problem with the SE is not really the lack of all the above. Qatar suffered from an absence of genuine talents. And that is what the SE suffers from too. 2 Likes |
