@bolded one thing I know for sure whatever we type here will have no effect on how Nigeria or Zambia approach the match. There is no way we can psych them up by typing on nairaland. Hear from the horse's mouth. Rohr has already said he is expecting a tough fight in Uyo. And that's a good sign. As long as we approach it with that kind of seriousness we will be just fine. Goke7: |

Some of us are use to our old ways -- Struggling along to the last game and calculating goals differential. Victory for us in Uyo cannot be negotiated. Let's approach that game like a final. We've struggled in the past to qualify because of our approach to so called smaller teams. I'm glad it's looking different at last. now we have to finish well just as we started. BascoVanVeli: |

wayodude: If we all agreed that the concept of wing back emanates from the position of left winger and as such the left wing back is a hybrid.Bringing the quality of defence and attack together. One of the essential attributes is pace, without it you will be quite limited in the modern game. You might survive with back up from your wingers but that's not the ideal situation. With this in mind from my next of the woods. My first choice is Seyi Ojo Liverpool Fc, it will not be problematic for him to become a left back. 1 Like |

I know this is off football or Super Eagles but please anyone have an idea why we are heading into the Afro Basket championship with Ike Diogu as the only familiar face in the team? I'm still scratching my head why we are going into a championship of that magnitude as the defending Champions and a place at the world championships in view without Al farouk Aminu, Champs Oguchi. SHANE Lawal, Ben Uzo, Micheal Gbinije and the rest of the crew that dominated Africa back in 2015. The team I saw in 2015 should have been able to win this thing 3x at a spin, but we have seemed to have broken them up with even a Nigerian coach in charge now. What happened to Voigt? Have they gone loco at the NBBF? If anyone can clear me up I don't mind. I can't seem to find the Afro basket thread. 4 Likes |

Goke7:my dear, preach. A lot of people on NL think none of these footballers are here, but I bet you not only footballers, sports writers, foreigners and co are here. NL is a top site for people lookign to see thoughts of Nigerians, so we should be cautious of our words here Our confidence will reflect on the players confidence, I am sure some of them read the comments here. Even the technical staff, we have all seen the coach make decisions that looked like he just ripped of people's comments on this thread and went with it The importance of NL and this thread particularly to the Super Eagles should not be laughed at 2 Likes |

Folks, calm down, nothing has really changed. We still need to get a result against Zambia next month and, like I said on twitter, if we can beat Zambia at home in a must win match then we don't deserve to be at the World Cup. Hence, I am not worried one bit. We still have over 90% chances of qualifying, Zambia with less than 10% chances. And I will take 90% over 10% any day, all day! We'll finish the job in Uyo, by beating them soundly. O pari |

Ten Things Super Eagles Manager Must Do To Reach Russia 2018 For Nigeria, amassing 10 points at the end of the matchday 4 of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers is already a great achievement. Unfortunately, this achievement will be meaningless if the Super Eagles fail to qualify for the biggest football competition on the globe. Zambia made Group B more interesting with a 1-0 victory over Algeria on Tuesday night, putting them in second place with seven points from four games and three points adrift leaders Nigeria. In the next month of international football for Nigeria, Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr will likely face an amount of pressure that he hasn’t seen in his coaching career with a potential decider against Zambia in Uyo. That’s why he must make his plans now, and not wait to start thinking about what he and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) should do. Proactively, he must take the following 10 actions if he wants to enjoy the 2018 summer in beautiful Russia for his first ever World Cup: 1)Prepare his team psychologically for the energetic Zambian side. 2)Set his preparation plan that will overshadow the opposition. 3)Isolate his team 100% away from all kinds of media, so as to avoid distractions or media fights that might emotionally affect fans and players. 4)Fix his main players list, taking into consideration form and injuries. 5)Forecast the attitude and competences of the enemy in all scenarios with data analysis of their performance in the next three weeks. 6) Impose his style and game plan on the match in Uyo and select the 11 players who can execute his game plan regardless of the history or fame of the players, along with a substitute list that can change the game should the game plan need to change. 7)Focus on harmony between the players, and establish a mix of diversified skills that can help in all expected and unexpected situations. Be brave with well-calculated risks from the first minute of the match till the end. 9)Do not allow any interference of NFF administration or management in his plans, as he knows and we all know well who they are and their capabilities. 10) Over Confidence of any kind shouldn't be allowed. We are almost there. We must not underrate the Zambians. Rhor needs to make his players show respect to the opposition and get the job done. From us at Allnigeriasoccer.com we wish the Super Eagles the best in their game against Zambia, with the hope that they destroy the Chipolopolo at the magnificent Godswill Akpabio Stadium and pick their sixth World Cup ticket. Odey Yet To Be Unveiled By FC Zurich, MFM Claim Deal Is In Place Mountain of Fire striker Stephen Odey's proposed switch to Swiss Super League side FC Zurich may be on the brink of collapse despite the Nigeria Professional Football League outfit claiming a deal is in place. Six days after the close of the summer transfer window, FC Zurich have yet to officially announce the signing of the Nigeria international, fueling speculation that something is amiss. A Mountain of Fire insider told allnigeriasoccer.com : ''I don't know what is delaying the deal. The Ghanaian player (Raphael Dwamena) Odey was supposed to replace came back to the club after he failed a medical at Brighton. ''The transfer has been processed by the TMS manager. It is not an issue of third party ownership because the person they claimed owned the player publicly stated that he belongs to MFM.'' The pictures circulating on social media is not a confirmation of Stephen Odey penning a four-year contract with FC Zurich, but when he signed a representation agreement with French agent Jean, the intermediary that brokered the deal that took Victor Osimhen to VfL Wolfsburg. Odey was courted by Swedish club IK Sirius, FC Midtjylland and Celtic before he apparently agreed terms with FC Zurich. Mountain of Fire are expected to pocket 300,000 euros from his transfer if it goes through. Ifeanyi Emmanuel http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=24529 |
