minfelix: that should be the goal now cos if they lose against CIV, no one will listen to any excuse. They should watch the quarter-finals against CIV in 2013 and see how the Eagles then redeemed themselves |

The Ivorians has played the most clinical game. With Fofana they don't neccessarily need to get into your 18 to score. Without Alhassan there is no way Fofana won't get into such situations. However, with Fofana and Kessie foraying into attacking position often we will have the chance to walk through their midfiled and thread those passes to Osimhen and Lookman! Finishing those chances off will be crucial. Alhassan performance today justifies @Supernerd call for his invite. The key to victory is in the hand of an injured man. lol With a fit Alhassan, I will bring in Aribo for Onyeka! Nevertheless, i am hopeful that the trio of Onyeka, Aribo and Iwobi will hold the midfield tight against the Ivorians. Our attack will have more opportunities than today. They need to be efficient. AndSunGorilla:You have made my point. At least he did it for us at the Afcon. That one is counting till date. If he had missed sitters from the onset I'm not sure we would even have had our second Afcon. Bro, I know misses that are forgivable. He missed one or two others. Nobody is holding him for that. But that clear chance? Osimhen messed up a big chance. |

Samueltemi337:So cuz Osimhen scored the only goal he should not be criticized for missing chances, pls would you have said this if Moffi and Onuachu missed those chances. Yes Osimhen is our talisman and he can do better than what he displayed today. He is a man I respect cuz after the final whistle he was not happy with himself especially that one on one chance. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 8:28pm On Jan 14, 2024 |
chrisooblog:Osimhen is good. But greatness is what some of us want for him. You see that Wcq in Abuja? You see today's match? Those are games he should have scored and his legend will grow. He's scoring for us oo but Mba is a legend with just two goals. That's what I mean 3 Likes |

Mujtahida:Baba, my premise is that far in the tournament, the striker would have gotten enough games in the tournament and should be in the zone, made mistakes early on and be more deadly later on in the tourney. Also there is a reason they call 2nd round games and onward, knockout games because any shenanigans you get punished immediately. All teams still have two more games after the first game to make amends and grow into the tournament. But my Barrister, right now Yekini's legacy still stays intact as the National team's Goals Father!!!!! Simple, several other strikers may have had more illustrious careers in Europe than Yekini (Yakubu, Owobokiri, Ekoku, Martins, Osimhen, Ighalo, etc), but as far as SE is concerned, Yekini is still the King, Kapish!!! 1 Like |
