This squad still gives me fear. Chai. They were that feared. Terrifying despite our talent that year
the reason is that they don’t produce this big bodied players anymore

Then, skill and talent wise we had it over them but they were too physical and robust when compared to our style of play

Also they can run for 120 mins nonstop

We might win this AFCON. Our defensive setup is novel, i have not seen this composition elsewhere. I am yet to come up with a way of breaking this defensive setup without running a high risk of conceding goals especially when the team with this kind of setup has a forward like Osimhen who defends from the front and is also a very potent counter attacking threat.

In years to come, people like Kog45 will go online to write that they are disappointed in Osimhen that he was only able to score a goal in the AfCon tournament. They will totally forget every effort he made because to them, as a striker, all your efforts are in vain if you don't score. It doesn't matter if you win.

The kinda disrespect that guy gives Kanu is quite funny. What Osimhen did today brutally was what Kanu did in 2004 and it was finished by Utaka.
since osimhen dey miss goals for this afcon him no Dey see am as Lagos boy again 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣

Osimhen's a proper Beast 🦍

Where are all the "Bench Osimhen FC?"
Rubbish fans everywhere!

1st game - Scored one goal
2nd game - Won a PK
3rd game - Forced an own goal
4th game - Provided an assist out of thin air

We say the definition of madness is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results.

How can you admit their ideas were "cancelled OUT" and "they didn't succeed" and still say they weren't clueless?

Na me mess up as I engage you sha
Yes, you messed up big time through what you said. You are the one who was actually clueless watching the match, without catching to see the different ideas the Camerounians applied trying to get a goal. They didn't try one particular thing, they tried different ways that failed in application.

His insistence on 4-4-2 was the problem, we just didn't have the right personnel to effect that formation, see how the team is performing now that he's flexible with his tactics

GBAM! Our issue with JP was his insistence on the 442 even when the results were poor. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result. This was the issue

Many on Nairaland have advocated to moving to a back 3 to shore up the defense and employ the WB talent we are blessed with properly.

My own issue with peseiro is his insistence on playing only 2 at the middle. He just need to remove Simon Moses and replace him with a midfielder while allowing iwobi a free role

Replace Zaidu with Omeruo and move Bassey to Zaidu's position and we will win this AFCON.

See that understanding among Bassey, Lookman and Iwobi for the 2nd goal.

Ola Aina made a pass with back heel like Jay Jay does. I'm still looking for the clip. He is beautiful to watch.

If Osimhen isn't present that's a different case. Keeping a known goal poacher like Osimhen on the bench in a crucial game is not a wise call.

That guy keeps defenders on their toes and causes them to commit errors that leads to goals. His movement and presence also draws their attention to himself which is a leeway for our wingers to cause damage

If the wingers were doing well I'm sure our goals return wouldn't have been this bad.
Where is that Mr "bench Osimhen"? I hope you've realised your mistake

A fighter like Osimhen to sit on the bench? Which other striker would have done what he did yesterday? Tell me.

That's the mistake people make when judging players based on recorded statistics alone. All those pressings from Osimhen all through the tournament will never be recorded. All that would be recorded so far is 1 goal and 1 assist.

Talking about Kanu, it is only people that watched him play that will really appreciate the impact he made in those AFCONs but meanwhile in the records he never scored a single goal.

Going from the quarter final stage, Osimhen really needs to improve on his conversion rate. Chances would be fewer and only teams that take chances win.

One of the attributes of a world class striker-

If you can't get a goal, assist

If you can't get an assist cause problems that lead to goals!

He has been involved in most of the goals!

bassey should start from the left wing back while omeruo takes his place in the LCB position
Zaidu is good in defensive just poor in offensive play... But I won't buy your idea because we easily switch to 5man defence when we're been Press

What we did by beating Cameroon this way, is give ourselves a huge momentum boost
The boys now believe they can go all the way
The SE will now be harder to beat..

Personally I don't see any team stopping them, unless ofcourse they stop themselves!

Congratulations everyone
Friday 6pm, we go again!

I believe Zaidu should keep his place
Omeruo can always come in later and we push Bassey to LWB
