And I knew we were never gonna win this game by a goal. if we had scored a second goal, yes.. but as soon as they equalized I knew my predictions was gonna come true. which is why I stayed away for the most part.

The coach surely got his tactics wrong, but is it worth it to get rid of him? Do we go all the way back to square one again?

Well, that "fluke" got us to our first final since 2013. I've always been an advocate for possession football, but that doesn't mean I won't say the truth when I see it.

Peseiro's tactics worked for this AFCON and I respect him for that.

Fluke is not working. Will you call the win over South Africa getting tactics right? We were totally outplayed in our last two games. That is not getting tactics right. I have said it and will say it. Negative football is just fluke. That is why Mourinho keeps falling. With time, it gets clear that it is stale.

Fvck it!! Our attack let us down. Why can’t he carry this team the way he’s carrying Napoli? Kvara doesn’t go shiit right? He’s the only one doing everything.

Anybody when go quote me to tell me nonsense about Osimhen go collect.

What happened to Aina today, I can't just imagine. He was defensively solid before this game

I know, but defensively he is not as strong as the others. Today he was put to the real test against an elite winger and his slack revealed. Aina's presence was to help a very limited midfield that can't hold its own.

He had 2 players on him. You can see he couldn't go forward. He brought in Simon late after the equalizer.

If you want to park the bus, you must block the wings and have hard working midfielders roaming the midfield but Iwobi wasn't doing that. He wasn't even helping matters because he kept loosing possession.

The freshness of Haller and Adingra won Ivory Coast the game.

Aina and Ajayi have played every single minutes of this competition. It is not easy.

Aina held firm in the first half but collapsed in the 2nd.
He was facing a guy with less than half of his minutes played. It is not easy.
Marjoribanks:
I will be sincere here.

Winning today's game will be tough or near impossible!

Our first 11 players are obviously fatigued.

Ivory Coast best forwards are fresher than our defense, and their defense fresher than our attack.

Paserio have to trust our bench for us to win this game.

Moffi, Nacho, Oyedika etc must come on early if the game is not going our way.

Paserio must be bold to bring in fresh legs.
Our victory lies on how well Paserio utilizes our bench and the selflessness of our players (passing to players in better position rather than going alone)!

I am telling you again, this match will leave you on the edge. If you have heart or anxiety issues, please don't watch.

If Super Eagles win today...

God bless Nigeria!

My fellow DC troll,

This was probably our best outing in any senior team competition for more than a decade. You will be amiss to think I'm that bitter about the outcome. Win or lose, we definitely made a statement in this year's AFCON.

We go again next time.

The boys will regroup from this. I think we have to address our midfield issues.

There’s talent but we need a new coach and more focus on the MF. Proper ball playing MFs

At all. Not coached to attack.

Negative football feels sweet when winning but with time you know you are not growing. The fact is that the team is not coached to play.

The case with Nwabali should really make us dig and unearth the real talented gks in the league. Nwabali is not young and we need excellent back ups.

The coach we need now is the one who knows what the team needs to improve. Jpes has played all the defense he wants, does he havw something else under his sleeves? He deserves a contract renewal though. But I don't think he can take us to the promised land.

comodo:
Congrats to all the players. There comes a time when you will be found out. Congrats to Nwabali. Congrats Ekong. You have done your feat. Same things. Against SA. They were just using our MF as express road.

Each time we get the ball instead of keeping it and reduce the pressure we send it back to them all in the name of counter.

When you're leading you try and hold possession for a little while to reduce the pace of the game and frustrate your desperate opponents.

You defend hard, get the ball and carelessly send it back to your opponent all in the name of finding Osimhen.

Brother, no midfielders to pass the ball
Though I felt Iwobi could have done more, but he's just not a DLP

Yeah but he chose the wrong time to employ it. This is the finals. Are we saying our boys didn't play in front of the same crowd earlier in the tournament

Why change something that works? cheesy Try to see it from his angle.

Concerning the crowd, my brother, that first match was different from this one. Did you hear that crowd tonight?

Did you see what the Ghanaian crowd did to us in Ghana? Did you see what the Algerian crowd did to us in that friendly? People underestimate the power of an extremely loud crowd; the motivation it gives.

Ndidi was missed. Onyeka covered good defensively and was fantastic with his forward drives, but his passing range is a let down. He is also not a genuine controller.

Thesupernerd is right.

Ndidi wasn't missed.

Blame the coach for leaving Yusuf and Onyedika on the bench.

Ndidi will retire one day, so SE needs to start looking for successors.

Once again defensive football aka Mourinho is an outdated tactic.
Paseiro has no future here playing this kind of football.
The Ivorians were more daring, vibrant...
That's the modern football... Dinosaurs like Paseiro and Mourinho are outdated and can't take you anywhere.
You might get lucky reaching the final, but it's limits will be shown up eventually
