Meanwhile... Yes, Alex Iwobi had another brilliant game today again. I said on X weeks back that it seems we are finally witnessing Peak Iwobi at 28 heading to 29 and 30. That is great news.

But another lad also impressed immensely today and that is Calvin Bassey.

He played LCB and was a rock.

2 Interceptions [=1st]
79/82 Accurate Passes [1st]
5/6 Long Balls
3 Clearances
5/6 Ground Deuls won
2/3 Dribbles completed
0 times Dribbled past

Bassey was dominant against Chelsea today.

Update on TheGoodJoe

NB: Please kindly put banters aside and take this seriously. Resist also the insensitive temptation to link this to Man City's current run of form. This is no joking matter, I plead

Now, I know a couple of monikers have been asking for weeks now about the whereabouts of TheGoodJoe. Truth is, I didn't want to share anything even though I knew all along what was happening with him and that is because I had not gotten his consent yet to share it (I have that now). He was going through a whole lot healthwise and I kept touch with him from the onset.
I just didn't wanna bring something so sensitive and private without his consent to the thread.

About 2 weeks ago or so, TheGoodJoe suffered a diabetic mini-stroke that really knocked him down. It led to him entering a semi-coma which kept him bed ridden for days but now he is up and fine again and has even been discharged as recently as yesterday.

He is fine but still undergoing serious followup checks with his doctors and more.

Please, kindly channel some of your prayers 🙏🏽🙏🏽to TheGoodJoe's health. Pray that this diabetic episode won't see the last of him. It is well. Amen.

In all, TheGoodJoe is sound currently. He can walk again and move around. He couldn't as at several days and weeks back. He is okay but still needs checks to ensure no relapse occurs. We thank God for his Life.

He also wishes you all a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year ahead.

Our hearts and prayers goes out to him
Wish you perfect recovery and hope he bounce back stronger

Kelechi Nwakali balled again today for Barnsley helping them to a 2-1 win in League One.

Alex Iwobi Masterclass in the EPL for Fulham vs Chelsea

But what excites me most today is Akinsanmiro's midfield performance for Sampdoria. Holy Special!!!

I'm glad he's alright.

@ TheGoodJoe, your absence really feels like something is missing on this thread especially when I see some comments and I imagine how you could have responded.

May God restore your strength Sir, can't wait for you to be back here.

Alright, for the sake of everyone.

It simply means stroke arising from High Blood Sugar in one's system.

High blood sugar can exhibit symptoms that imitate a stroke.

If one's blood glucose level is on the high side, it can result in increased deposits of fats or clots in blood vessels.
These clots can act to either block or narrow blood vessels in the head(Brain) or neck, cutting off the blood supply thus stopping oxygen from getting to the brain and causing a stroke.

That is why it is called Diabetic Stroke. It could be pre-diabetes (stage just before diabetes is fullblown) or diabetes itself.

In TGJ's case, I guess it was called Mini-stroke by his own doctors because while it was strong enough to knock him down, the symptoms weren't full blown (not all were expressed) but had to be managed immediately with care and utmost attention.

So please, folks should kindly mind their sugar intake. I advise everyone to kindly monitor their blood sugar levels and BP levels as well. We will all live long. Amen.
