Kog45: Please. The same Mujtahida who just highlighted jabs on Iheanacho because of in his words, my exaggeration. Let us face facts. Not because of someone's admiration of a player (mine is always based on football reasons) people should make bias analysis. That is my simple point. Comprede? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 6:57am On Oct 13, 2017 |
Kog45:Yeah one has to have the ability to re-assess one's opinions and re - examine one's conclusions. You remember how we came down hard on Balogun after the Zambian game but after rewatching the match I had to change my assessment and I urged you to review the match again. Balance - though difficult in a passionate sport like football - is what we should aim for. |

Mujtahida: Ighalo worked hard, made good movements in some cases. That does not mean we should tag his movement in the game mobile. He was behind pace some times and caused us scoring chances. Not taking away his devotion and brilliance. I am just asking for using the same bar to judge players. If Iheanacho was poor getting into position, poor in converting chances, if I explained quality movement during build-up, I will be accused of exaggeration. I am asking for more balanced opinion. Do not attack a player based on a dislike of a moniker's comment. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 7:08am On Oct 13, 2017 |
TheGoodJoe:Hahahaha hahahaha goodjoe. I have never criticised Iheanacho and I am only telling you to tone down on your exaggerations. The fact you are accusing me of jabbing Iheanacho while trying to straighten you out is the reason why I oppose your exaggerations cos in calling you out one stands the danger of being seen as being unduly critical of a player. You pointed out that Ighalo didn't press and I agreed with you. That's no jab from you on Ighalo. That is being factual. More of it on all the players is what you should do. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 7:21am On Oct 13, 2017 |
Mujtahida: You keep saying exaggeration and pointed out the Algerian game as an example. That is a fact. Not exaggeration. I can bet most of the exaggeration you are saying is me clearly on footballing terms explaining negative views of Iheanacho during games. That is not exaggeration. I have no problem with people not liking my views. I have a different perspective from lots of people. Just as I was one of the few repping Mikel Obi during the SlObi era. That does not call for bias views. Finito. Have a nice day. |

tbaba1234: Stop shifting goal posts. Did you watch all the 10 games he played this season? From zero goals to zero assist. Bhuuuhahaha! The fact remains he scored 2 goals when he played in the AM 4 times. Meaning your claim that he didn't play from the middle is null and void. Period. EOD Whether, he played 4 times as a RM(take note right midfield) and ones as a DMF are inconsequential. The fact remains that he played as the central maestro has been established. EOD next please. Why did you hide the fact he played as the AM 4 times? Please, answer my other questions and this. Thanks |

edi287: Agu's deficiencies were not because he was nervous, naturally he is just like busquets, play Busquets higher up the pitch to win the balls and you will see that that isn't what he is made for. Agu playing higher up the pitch exposed him to the part of the game that was fast paced and that was why he was fouling everybody left, right and center. Agu's passing isn't poor, I can argue that it is almost on par with that of Ndidi, but Agu's ball winning skills higher up the pitch is nowhere close to Ndidi's but somehow the coach subbed in Agu to play a position meant perfectly for Ndidi while Ndidi was in a position meant specifically for Agu 1 Like |

forgiveness:. As always, you argue like you are so sure then at the end of the day it turns out that you only check these things on transfermarket. I remember watching one of his games this season, he scored a goal in that match I can't remember the name of the opponent. He played the first five minutes as the AMF or maybe he was just in the middle to help stabilise the team, then for the next 85minutes he played out wide, when I say out wide I mean out wide, not even close to a right-sided pseudo AMF but here you are arguing what you don't know 1 Like |

Icon4s:I share your view but we can still try Ndidi/Mikel combo in d middle and Iwobi as Am and Simeon retaining his position or Nacho upfront with Ighalo and Iwobi on d right side with Ndidi/Mikel doing it in d middle. How do u see it. |

TheGoodJoe: from your views I have learnt one thing today which I think I should ask you to be sure. So if in a game CR7 is marked out of the game by one or two defenders and he has a poor game but Benzema manages to run the opposing defence ragged(despite the fact that he too had a defender on him just like CR7), then it was actually CR7 that won the game because one defender marked him out? I think this makes sense now |

Show me prove and I shut my mouth. Period. Na so you dey claim Etebor who is LW should have come in for Onazi. Bhuuuhahaha! Give me the name of the opponent then I can tell what he played. Alhassan stands a better chance to be called into the SE as an AM...Than Ajagun... reason because rohr already knows the first and even assessed him in training... ajagun will have to get involved in close to 20-25 goals this season to get rohr's attention 2 Likes |

Mickael2:Agu is aggressive and quite mobile. I don't think he's busquets type of slow. He was really nervous. Second half his tackling got better and he covered for our fullbacks well. This sub is no different from the Esiti sub Rohr made against Zambia in the first leg. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mickael2(m): 8:09am On Oct 13, 2017 |
edi287: exactly, on that in that game against Zambia we were leading and had something to protect and Esiti came in and slowed the game down. Agu may be more mobile than Busquets but he isn't anywhere close to Ndidi so why the coach decided to play Agu in a position that would maximise Ndidi's potential whilst playing Ndidi in a position that would maximise Agu's potential sure beats me. However I don't want to dwell on this debate for long. I heard Mikel won't play the game against Algeria, I will come back to this claim after that match |

Mickael2: This one made me laugh out loud. Back to the basic: 1. You don't change a winning formation. 2. You don't change a winning Team. National team football is a lot lot different from Club football. In club football because of the quality of players at your disposal, you can chose to alter formation even severally in a single game. You can chose to go to the market to buy a particular due to a new formation the club has chosen to adopt. If a formation or tacticsfails the coach has several other matches to redeem himself This is national team football. Caution here in very key. You don go about experimenting squads at random except for friendly matches. The key to national team selection is to optimize your available resources especially when you are limited compared to the major oppositionsyou are to face. If the midfield combo of Ndidi-Onazi-Mikel has been giving you the right results why change it? O I understand the need to play Iwobi at the AM position but right now Mikel is more effective in that position so we have to move Iwobi to the wings. What happens to Simon? Yes Iwobi has reclaimed his wings position from him. Can we recall Simon was not a starter in Rohr's earlier matches? Now going back to the issue of consistency. We saw what happened against SA with so many changes to the starting lines up, with some of the regulars missing for various reasons known to us. Consistency is key in team building. One or two changes may be made depending on various circumstances. Rohr knows his team already and there is no need for wild experiments. It is important that the team maintains shape and cohesion as this would be vital as they compete at the World Cup. 1 Like
