This guy doesn't seem to like Onyekuru. He probably isn't impressed with his work rate or its something personal. Just last week he said Onyekuru was more focused on playing in the world cup than the team.

And idowu too, I saw of pic of him taking one on his Instagram page too . Iwobi with his eye for spaces also looks like a potential set piece taker if worked on.

Gone are the days of odogwu (Mikel) style of freekicks.

This Anderlecht coach is a funny man. His top striker with the kind of movement the coach likes is shooting blanks while he is turning down the call of Onyekuru himself to give him a run in the top role. The coach is there, talking right movement.

there is no rule that says we must play the formation we used during qualifiers. That is why there are friendlies, for experiments, whichever formation turns out to be the most effective, we use.

There is a saying of "use what you have to get what you want"... We want wins, so we use the best formation we can to get it and if we cannot get an effective Top 9, then we should build our team and formation with what we can get.

All the Top 9's we have been taking to World Cup for our last five appearances, how far did they take us? How many goals did they score? One of the biggest misses of all time was made by an EFFECTIVE Top 9, was it not?

Football is not a one-way street o, this is 2017, we cannot be playing 1996 footy in 2017, you need to come with an element of surprise sometimes, can't give opposition an easy target. Confuse the enemy's camp so that they don't know who to mark, that is how we excelled this round of qualifiers, we did not need an effective Top 9 to score 12 goals

Ten years from now, there may be no Top 9. I don't know why the emphasis on an effective Top 9, something we did not need during qualifiers, we now want to force it?

If we get a Top 9, fine, if not, we work with what we have. We don't have a dearth of goal scorers in this team, so why the emphasis on Top 9? What we should be talking about for this team as far as I am concerned, is a good goalie. That is where we have an emergency.

Even the Mikel replacement, in all sincerity, I doubt there is one. Joel Obi himself cannot replace Mikel because Mikel has his own style that Joel doesn't. There is no Mikel replacement, no need trying to find one.

What we can get is reinforcements here and there, highest three to four people total in those three categories (defense, midfield, attack)....

Let us put our searchlight on GKs, that's our weakest point for now and the area that requires the most attention

Central midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is Nigeria's pass master in the English Premier League, having completed more passes than other Nigerians playing in the league, even his Leicester City teammates.

According to stats from the official website of the Premier League, Ndidi took his tally for the season to 600 after the Foxes 1-1 draw with West Ham on Friday.

The former Racing Genk star has made more passes than Harry Maguire (526), Danny Simpson (437), Christian Fuchs (434) and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel (398).

Leicester City number eight Kelechi Iheanacho is sixteenth on the list with with 78 passes made in only 255 minutes of game time.

Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi is second on the list of Nigerian passers with 241 successful passes, while Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses comes third with 131 passes.

The top passers in the Premier League after thirteen matches are Fernandinho (1,141), David Silva (1,091) and Nicolás Otamendi (1,066).

Martins Fires Shanghai Shenhua To Chinese FA Cup Triumph

Former Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins was on target in the second leg of the Chinese FA Cup final as his club Shanghai Shenhua were crowned champions.Despite losing the second leg 3-2 to 10-man Shanghai SIPG FC, Shanghai Shenhua won on away goals rule after winning the first leg 1-0 to end the tie 3-3 on aggregate.


Martins scored the only goal in the first leg 1-0 win for Shanghai Shenhua last weekend.
Wenjun Lue gave Shanghai SIPG the lead in the 16th minute on Sunday before Yunding Cao drew Shanghai Shenhua level on the stroke of half-time.


Martins scored to make it 2-1 to Shanghai Shenhua in the 68th minute but Brazilian forward Hulk made it 2-2 after converting a 72nd minute penalty.


An own goal by Giovanni Andres Moreno in the 76th minute gave Shanghai SIPG a 3-2 lead.
In the 90th minute, Shanghai SIPG were reduced to 10 men following Huan Fu’s sending off.


Shanghai Shenhua have now won their first Chinese FA Cup title since 1998 and have now won it for the fourth time.
