I have long accepted the MRI as a very very very good standard.
You say the MRI is not 100%, the yardstick that you have been using to measure the EPL, is it fool proof, sir Komekn ?
If we choose not to accept the ages of the players that have passed the MRI, then let's also not trust science. Everything is hardly 100% accurate.

In all developed countries thier is automatic birth data capture at birth indeed even prior there is data.

The MRI is the best thing that happened to Nigerian football, it means the wholescale blatant abuse of the past where old men declared themselves as teenagers has stopped.

However, being Nigerian where there is a will there is a way. A Nigerian born in the USA failed his MRI scan for the U17 team.

If you cut age it's almost now impossible to shade 4/5/6 years off your age. Possibly 2/3 years but not much else.

Discrediting players based on age is quite petty. Emphasis should be on performance not age.
The Swiss grand master Roger Federer at 36 played his best tennis at the Aussie open and Wimbledon. As a matter of fact, he won the Wimbledon without dropping a set.

In athletics, current world 100 meters champion Justin Gatlin is no spring chicken.

How about basketball? LeBron James is 32 and still looks unstoppable. I watch him power through games and dominate much younger players with ruthless abandon.

Stated above are 3 physically demanding sports. One may even argue these sports are much more physically demanding than football, yet the best in these sports aren't teenagers.

I don't know why people insist we must go to the world cup with an U23 team. Not when the last 4 world cup finals have been contested by older and experienced teams.
Anyone in doubt should check the average age of world cup finalists from 2006-2014

Agreed without reservation

How do you know they are all U13.

I have been at a EPL academy and there is a boy brought not from West Africa in the U 12 category. He is killing everyone but they have shaved 2/3 years of his age.

I know boys brought in from Guinea Bissau at thus stage just two years off the age and he's top of the group. And will remain top until first team one of these boys has a transfer fee now of £8 million.

So the quest for competitive advantage causes corrupt practices even here. So I doubt that Nigeria will be any different.

I will tell you u have association with academies in Nigeria and Benin city in particular. And it's not hidden what they are doing.

So if you think I will be made to feel that my experiential observation are incorrect that will simply not work.

The problem we have mirrors the Nigerian situation we know that most police and politician are corrupt. That we find it hard to believe that any honest ones exist, there will be but, we all remain skeptical.
You have a very big problem.
To you even if a child is born this night, but as far as he is born in Nigeria that child must be older by the number of years you chose to believe.

I don't know who did this to.

The point is you have to accept the MRI anyways.
If you want to assume that 100% of Nigerians who pass the test are age cheats by a 2/3 years margin, it remains a mere assumption. For me, most — if not all — are actually within the said age range.

That muthaphucka is snitching on us, it’s not as if they can’t watch and analyse Super Eagles’s matches but a Nigerian displaying such attitude on a foreign/enemy’s forum is stupid.

He was just trying to show off his debating skills. He riled and disrespected the Croats boasting that Nigeria would beat them by 3 unreplied goals!, bragged about the victory over the Argies in the last friendly and he got the sort of responses he deserved.

Let’s not be carried away by that victory. Argentina missed lots of chances. We might have a young and hardworking team of energetic young men but Croatia is highly favoured to win, the goal keeping issue might haunt us if we don’t sort it out.
I hope we be able to stifle the threats of the likes of Perisic. He is fast, very skilful and can shoot hard and precisely at narrow and tight angles. Shehu, Ebuehi need to be fit and in top form to deal with that. Manzudkic is strong and deadly,Kalinic, Ratikic all are serious threats feeding off the deadly passes of Modric. The winner of that first match might top the group. I think Croatia will not lose to Argentina and I have a feeling Argentina might have a bad experience in Russia. I wish them disaster.

That boy ‘Super Eagles’ should stop showing off and disrescting Croatia. They see him as a Serb troll probably because of his knowledge of Croatia history and politics.

been following the thread as well, that dude really needs to tune down. he talks too much. he is just trying to make a point about his intelligence, and that's sad. they would still racially define his perspectives.

My point is if we must pick players from the big leagues they should be at least above average

Modified
I know you like to be objective and run with league rankings.
Let me advise you. watch other leagues and be a little subjective as well. Appreciate football generally. There is more to football beyond the English leagues.

komekn:

When a league is rated 10 positions above another the matter of superiority is not for debate.

That there are exceptional players in low level leagues is not in doubt. However, they stand out and end up leaving as they become so outstanding.

If we pick players from low level leagues they should be unquestionably outstanding. That's my position.

I know about Sokari. He's used to be dubbed as the "Nigerian iniesta" those days. My point is many said Rohr is looking for someone to replicate Onazi's work and I'm asking why Sokari and not Joel Obi and Azubuike?? Both have better defensive qualities and offer more versatility(especially Joel Obi). I'm not against inviting him but it'd be unfair if someone like J Obi doesn't get an opportunity as well.
life itself is not fair bro.....
sometimes opportunities does not come across to everyone at the same time...
but when opportunity meet preparation...that's the best.
I pray sokari prove himself and impress well....

Awaziem did shackle Neymar for a period in the game.

He did not. Neymar wrecked him and his mates. The only thing they did well was commiting lots of foul and getting booked.

Nantes were lucky not to concede more goals.

I disagree bruh! They dont have the same playing style. Onyekuru has a higher work rate and thats what he has over players like Calvert. Thats y in modern day football, there is no such thing as starting 11 anymore. Else you get predictable every now and then. And what happens when members of ur supposed startin 11 get injured?

If club managers arent bias and will play according to their strengths, the results will be there for all to see. Look at Arsenal's last game! They played with the intensity required. They were just unlucky to come away with a draw. It was the first time I saw Wenger play with attacking intent throwing all his guns out. Not with sentiments. You could see Iwobi given the permission to shoot unlike when he was always passing

Don't disagree with me just yet.

Are we not talking about the EPL? No starting eleven no more in modern football, yet Musa, Slimani, Nacho, Ulloa never really seem to play from minute to zero minutes totally?

The quality of Onyekuru is not in doubt here, would he be given a fair chance to show us how different he is from the rest?

Bingo! You nailed it bro!

Careers have been made and destroyed simply because someone finds himself in a good or bad situation. A few years back Christian Benteke was setting the EPL on fire. Where is he now? A few years ago Wilfred Bony was one of the hottest strikers in the EPL. Where is he today? A few years ago, Joe Hart was being called one of the best goalkeepers in the world but the arrival of Pep practically spelled doom to his career.

Seriously guys, we need to think twice before criticizing some of our players. Sometimes it takes more than "hard work" to get ahead in this world.

O pari

What might work for one might work against another. But once a manager is sold on you, you'd get all the chances to prove yourself.

When Son Hueng Min, his teammate first arrived from Bayern Leverkusen, he was poor for one full season, but the next season he made history with Tottenham by scoring above 20 goals with Alli and Kane.

The EPL will not change for any player. You have to hit the ground running, time is a very scarce commodity you get 2/ 3 games to show your quality after that if you don't know show quality. You could be dropped.

Whether you are from England or you are from China it doesn't matter.

That's great, buy as much players as you can afford, give them 3 matches to play, they fail to deliver, discard them for another set of New players. Wonderful!

Wasn't Son given a whole season to blend in, how is he fairing now for Tottenham?

Ndidi coming from the lowly Belguim league has performed KC coming from the high flying Manchester city has flopped for Leicester.

During Vardy's goal drought last season, who replaced him in the starting 11, as an English player you are permitted to lose form while playing and continue playing until you get back into form.

But as a African player:

- You cannot make errors.
-You're not permitted to lose form.
- You'd have to work twice as hard before you get a look in.
- You are not permitted to be average.

You know I will say this again my DNA is Nigerian I like show boating, skills and flair. I have had to realise sometimes, it's just playing to the gallery and it's not always resulting in effective delivery for advantage in the field of play.

Nathan Oduwa has the skills and technical ability. But his delivery to gain advantage is some how missing. His work rate and anticipation is suspect. He has been seriously over taken in my opinion by small boys in Tottenham.

I remember Tega Onomah at Tottenham too he was playing all that show boating stuff. He has changed reading the game working hard incredible anticipation and the eye for a killer defence splitting pass. Totally unselfish.

Mark my words next season I see him making waves.

That's sad for Nathan, Slovenia is far too low for him, don't you think? Well, he's just 21, I hope he gets his acts together soon.

I also have same views on Onomah, that boy is something.

JUST IN: Enyeama's coach fired! -

.com - source

Dec 15, 2017 1:00 PM

Vincent Enyeama's coach at the French club, Lille, Marcelo Bielsa has been fired.

The arrival of Bielsa at Lille has never added anything positive for Enyeama; hence it would not be surprising if the former Nigeria international does not lose sleep over Friday's development.

The 62-year-old former Argentina, Chile and Athletic Bilbao coach, who is acclaimed by the likes of Pep Guardiola, Mauricio Pochettino and Jorge Sampaoli as a coaching visionary, was appointed by Lille amid great fanfare this May.

Biesla was installed as head coach as Les Dogues underwent a huge squad overhaul, with former Barcelona vice-president Marc Ingla and ex-Monaco technical director Luis Campos brought on to the board by ambitious new owner Gerard Lopez.

But a 3-0 victory over Nantes on the opening weekend of the Ligue 1 season proved to be a false dawn as Lille took three points from nine subsequent winless matches.

Bielsa was summoned to a meeting with Lille officials for "an interview prior to a possible dismissal".

However, his lawyer confirmed his client did not attend that meeting and the club finally confirmed his departure via a brief statement on their Twitter page on Friday.
