Joebie:Honestly, its really annoying to know the fact that Rohr hasn't realized that Iwobi is at his best when played through the middle. Its a factor that made the forward have a disappointing international outing. Rohr needs to open his eyes to this because we can't afford to have him make such mistake in Russia. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Rockyrascal(m): 9:24am On Apr 01, 2018 |
komekn:the type of development required is not a “turn an ajegunle to a Victoria island type of development" in 4 weeks. We all know almost 95 percent of our squad are set of average players. My point here is that the coach should try the players out in different positions just like he did against Serbia to know which and which position a player can strive well or struggle and that's where the assessment part comes in. Our team does not possess an individual brilliance that can turn a crucial game around like the likes of Messi, Ronaldo or suarez. So there must be a cohesion in the team in which Rohr must endeavor to look into. At this stage new invites are not necessarily needed for it will be too late to adjust to the coach's system. |

elyte89:They are arguing it ooo. They say it can never happen. That once you are declared fit it means you are absolutely fit. One moniker even went as far as saying Rohr must be an idiot, a fool, a stupid man to play a possibly not fully fit Ebuehi. Thank you for reminding me of the bandage on Zidane's knee. I vividly recall. Even our own Keshi played matches with injury not to talk of fitness. Oliseh came from hospital to play in our Afcon match in 2000 against Senegal. These things happen regularly. In Ebuehi's case though Rohr should be blamed cos it was just a friendly and Aina was on the bench. 4 Likes |

tbaba1234: One of the things I stand by is that if you are doing good things in training you will get noticed. Then you will start to play games and as you put in consistent, continous, top quality performances you will get accolades. As a striker you will score goals. Sadiq is 21 in today's environment if old enough good enough, we have lots of teenagers having top performances. Sadiq was in Seria A, with Roma how many games did he play, If he is that good he should break into the first team. You are comparing him to Ighalo so you can't use potential but the HERE and NOW. One of the things I am weary of is players in very good teams made to look better than they are arguably. Because if you have better players around you you look better and play better also. That's why Ibe looked so good at Liverpool fc but couldn't replicate the same at Bournemouth. Same goes for KC at City could not replicate the same at Leicester. Compare that to Defoe and Obagoal everywhere they go big club or small club no matter the league. They totally stand out with consistent top draw performances. Lukaku is the same. Sadiq has had barely 18 professional games in his entire career. Can I ask why If he is so good, why so few games. I actually rate him potentially speaking he has pace, good technical ability and looks good. So why didn't Roma rate him enough by giving him games It doesn't add up. Let me compare him to other 21 year olds. Ibe is a year older but before he was 20 he had played 41 games for Liverpool. Raheem had played 95 games before he was 20 for Liverpool. Dele Alli is 21 years old and has 226 professional games against his name. Ok these are exceptional talents you may say. Seyi Ojo is 20 but has had 65 professional games refused a move to Newcastle in the summer. Dominic Iorfa has had 121 professional games and he is 22. Ademola Lookman has had 78 professional games. I could go on and on. Essentially what I am saying is his career games total at 21 is very poor, it's not reflecting the way you have rated him. It's possible he has not had opportunity, I do not know . I do rate highly what you say on this thread. But I am struggling to agree that he is currently SE material and better than Ighalo. And all this talk about Chelsea is just talk, he is not a stand out player in the Belguim league. Not long ago I remember when there was talk that Liverpool wanted Shehu our RB but that didn't come to anything. Mitrovic at 21 was destroying the Belgium league at Anderlecht. Newcastle bought him it didn't quite work out and he is at Fulham banging in goals. My view is as it stands Ighalo is our number 1 striker, what he brings nobody else is doing right now. Yes he is far from great, he had lost form at Watford badly before going to China. Anybody coming into the SE set up should be tried, consistent, tested and proven with top quality performances over the years. In this regard Obagoal ticks every single box going add to that his hat trick yesterday . There is no debate . As it stands I currently right now I rate him higher than KC. 6 Likes |

Mujtahida:Seriously Ighalo hasn't instilled confidence into most of us. Yes he has good holdup play plus dribbling skills, but at this stage, we need more dan that. We have tricky wingers that can dribble and a Mikel dat can hold up play. We need Ighalo to bang goals and not dribble. Bang goals!!. Its just 2months b4 world cup and he shud start scoring or else he might just end up as a backup to Obafemi Martins or any Nigerian striker in Red hot form. We all know dat top 9 position is very important and we have wingers or midfielders who doesn't score in high numbers. Infact our current wingers and midfielders can't guarantee u 10goals a season except probably Onyekuru and he is just coming back from injury. Ighalo please start banging goals!!! Happy Easter celebration everyone... 1 Like 2 Shares |

Rockyrascal: I remember when Osaze came to West Bromwich he had not even trained with the team, went on to that game and was literally the MOTM. Good players make teams better they don't need to adjust, they adjust the team to become better. |

There is a certain 21 yrs old 6ft 6inches (1.97 m I think) left-footed central midfielder playing for Huddersfield in the EPL who is eligible to play for Nigeria. He is also eligible for Denmark I think. His name is Phillip Anyanwu Billing. Hmmmm..... #justsaying #MonitoringEveryTraceofNaijaBloodonPlanetEarth #NaijaTracker 6 Likes |

Joebie: Just because he hasn't done that does not mean he will come into the middle and all of a sudden start doing all of them. At some point in 2011 or so, Alves said he was more comfortable playing as an attacker, Tito played him as a winger and well no need remembering that performance, so players opinions aren't exactly professional most times. At Arsenal he plays as a winger and he posts good performances there....sometimes at least |

Siasia played Iwobi at the middle.. football is fluid and not rigid, which is why I can usually watch a game and say a certain player would be able to operate in another role. Iwobi has been seen performing well at the middle during game time than any other position on the field, which was why I asked you the question, have you seen Iwobi make a clever cut, a taken a wonderful cross, or dribbled his way through the flanks while on national duty? answer capital NO. Hence, he is not suited for the wings.. But have u seen him perform creatively from the middle (sprayed passes) and even scored breathtaking goals from that position? YES. That clearly means he is actually more comfortable operating from the middle. Mickael2: |
