Actually that is when History comes in place. The mistake you are making is that you are confusing history with story. The Edo are not telling a story, the precolonial documents recorded by euopean traders and explorers who visited the region hundreds of years ago are the things telling the story. That is what we call History. Proven past. That is the main difference. Take care. http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b530530714/f1.item.r=Benin.zoom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmrdunRXfbw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nh2Tac1gNPU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duy5bhrRkqs I can't help it if Benin Kingdom has a great history. safarigirl: Then we should be arguing that he needs to improve on passsing game if HE IS DOING EXCEPTIONALLY WELL And worst still not scoring goals...since we know were he is coming from. These his tackling stats are a clear evidence of his talent as a backman |

safarigirl:yeah you're right...he is doing well. someone of US here still haven't grasp the gospel truth...that most of these players are later reshaped and schooled the rudiments of football upon being signed abroad... we have no properly equipped academies to train these lad...and get to discover the role best suited for them.... the Europeans are primarilynot driven with the desire to derail their potentials and abilities but rather maximize these players potentials and make judicous use of their abilities...reason why sometimes they change their roles..... though they're some exceptions...for example kelechi shootin accuracy and being clinical in front of goals obviously made city convert him to be CF...though he was signed as an Am...... so I won't totally condemn these European clubs actions... you never can tell what would have been had it been ndidi remained as a CB...may be he would not have attain these heights.... so like we always everything happen for our good....only if he look well...... 2 Likes |

The fact that Iwobi was able to pull off a shot there goes to show his talent. That was a hard angle and I was expecting him to get the ball taken from him. 2 Likes |

gamaliel9:he can improve on his passing game, but that has nothing to do with his position. His passing game might not have been betterv even as a CB. He performs his key role very well, but like every other young footballer, there is space for improvement. |

Mustafi has been such a huge liability to Arsenal. He must go. Sometimes, I find it hard to believe that he won a world cup. |

Mujtahida: Is a joy to see intelligent mind like you that discuss issue like this with a matured touch to it. let me add that cultural and language influence has no geography bound, the itsekiri people who are Yorubish in there culture, language and names live in the present day delta state surrounded by igbos and benin. Words in today Yoruba still has Arabic influence to it e.g Adura, alubosa and barika...languages travel just like some English words are influence by the French |

Martz101: Bro i think you're actually d cause of this debate. How is Olisaeburuwa a Benin word? That imo and abia people dont use d word does not make it a borrowed word. Igbo dialects, cultures and gods differs. You can tell which part of igboland someone is from by his attire and secondly by his dialect and I beleive all these dialects are influenced by d language of their neighbouring tribes, its just vice versa. So dont tell me the tribes that influenced igbo without telling me how igbo influenced them. 1 Like |

Farzat: Cant you see we are saying the same thing, I'm an igbo man and I dont see how is a shame to be influence by a certain people, Lagos which is the commercial hub of Nigeria was influence too. Just like the igbo people influence some part of river state, just like calabar people influence the ohafia and Abiriba people in present day Abia state. Everyone know God in igbo is CHI and CHUKWU and the benin is OLISE, OLISA or OSA, why does the western Igbo choose to beat names like olisaemeka instead of CHUKWUemeka. If you go to Abiriba or ohafia in Abia they bear name like Obasi which means God in calabar. I actually did not cause the argument, I was only trying to help in solving the puzzle of the OSAYI guy root, 1 Like |

Martz101: There you go again. Igbo people influence some part of Rivers. I think you are actually misunderstanding Tribe for state. The indigenous people has lived so many years before the creation of states, the creation of states by the Military Government divides tribes into different states thereby causing a lot of identity crisis in Nigeria today. Are you surprised that there are Igala speaking tribe in Anambra state today? Please dont misunderstand states as boundary for tribes. 1 Like |

I think we should also not confuse language with "tribe". I guess each state has its own history, not all state was born due to millitary regimes and even those who were born in military regimes were not all artificial. Let us stop acting as if the same thing happened to each and every state. Bendel was part of Benin Kingdom, it seperated from the western region after a vote from Bendel people. It was later devided into two. Farzat: |

Ex-Nigeria U20 Captain Ajagun Scores Eighth Goal Of The Season For Kortrijk Published: April 15, 2018 Ex-Nigeria U20 skipper Abdul Ajagun was on target for Kortrijk as they claimed a 2-0 win over Lierse in the Belgian First Division A playoffs on Saturday. Jeremy Perbet opened the scoring for the visitors at the Herman Vanderpoortenstadion in the 33rd minute, bundling home the ball from a corner. Twelve minutes into the second half, Ajagun made it 2-0 when he capitalized on a loose ball after a shot was blocked by goalkeeper Rakovsky. The number eight has been directly involved in 13 goals ( 8 goals, 5 assists) from 34 appearances in all competitions this season. As a result of the win, Kortrijk are second in Group A of the UEFA Europa League playoffs with six points, one less than Peter Olayinka's Zulte-Waregem, and their Nigerian star is the club's joint-leading scorer in the playoffs. Up next, Glen De Boeck's side welcome OH Leuven to Guldensporenstadion on Tuesday. Igho Kingsley http://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/933382288?-18946:4882 2 Likes |
