Eagles Workout: Simon Sidelined, Ndidi Individual Session, Positive News On Awaziem Injury Published: May 27, 2018 Eagles Workout: Simon Sidelined, Ndidi Individual Session, Positive News On Awaziem Injury The Super Eagles had their last training session on Sunday evening ahead of the international friendly against Democratic Republic of Congo in Port Harcourt, allnigeriasoccer.com is reporting. If the workout held at the Shell Ground is anything to go by, two players have been ruled out of the friendly against the Leopards. Gent winger Moses Simon did not take part in any of the training activities today and watched his teammates from the sidelines. Rohr announced during a team meeting before the squad left their hotel for training that the result of the scan is not looking good, but has not officially stated whether or not he's out of the World Cup. Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi carried out another personal training for the fifth successive day but jogged with the team at the start of the session. Meanwhile, the positive news is that Porto starlet Chidozie Awaziem participated in full training today after suffering a knock in the process of blocking a shot from Kelechi Iheanacho in yesterday's session. The central defender will start on the bench against Democratic Republic of Congo, only for tactical reasons and not as a result of injury. TheCongo2:Baba you need to understand something. Swiss Division 3 is a developed league that can produce formidable teams that will even beat the best in our top flight league. Organization and technical advancement is the keyword here and we lack it. We are still playing medieval football in Africa and that's why West bred footballers will always have an edge over their homegrown colleagues. Are you not privy of what Ludogorets Ragzard said about our NPFL highest goal scorer not being up to standard? Football has gone digital bro so stop beclouding your sense of judgement with sentiments of patronizing our own first. Do we even have a recognized Division 3? our top flight is still practicing home must win talk more of those ones that no one is monitoring. Google his name and his bio will be up. Google any local league player and see for yourself how far behind we still are. This isn't neocolonialism or inferiority complex, it's me saying the truth. 6 Likes |

Six Super Eagles Stars Who Must Impress Against DRC To Make World Cup Squad Published: May 27, 2018 The Super Eagles training sessions have come with mixed fortunes and while seven of these players currently with the team will definitely miss out of the final list, who among them desperately need that big performance? Coach Gernot Rohr has earlier hinted at having already earmarked 'twenty' Eagles who are more than assured of their places on the plane to the Eurasia country, provided they do not suffer any injury relapse— most of these players he meant are well known to any follower of the Nigeria national team. But the wild-card choices are not in any way to be written off just yet and Monday's meeting with DR Congo provides another opportunity for these ones to try and suss further belief in them at least, before the team in finally pruned down to 23. Below, allnigeriasoccer.com presents readers with these players who are surely going to come under stern scrutiny at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium as their hopes of a world cup adventure goes down the wire. Mikel Agu: The Bursaspor midfielder has never been a popular choice in the middle of the park for the team and notably, seems the most midfield player likely to be axed. Joel Obi's current standing in the team makes it all the more difficult for the 24-year old and while Uche Agbo equally seems to be in Rohr's good books, it seems inevitable Agu would have to provide something spectacular to usurp even one of his fellow mid fielders. The DR Congo game looks like his last chance saloon if he is handed some minutes. Stephen Eze: Training session updates from the Eagles camp has shown the Lokomotiv Plovdiv man to be a decent player to have around but could he really fancy his chances of usurping the backup centre backs, bearing in mind that the Balogun/Troost-Ekong defensive combo is not likely to change anytime soon. With Rohr less likely to risk throwing much of his most important players out against the Leopards, how Eze handles his Super Eagles debut cum audition on Monday would be particularly instructive in the forming of opinions. Junior Lokosa: Well, what we are quite certain of is that Lokosa is quite a talented player, a handful for defenders whenever he gets on the ball in the area. His goal return in the NPFL is simply amazing and his outputs in training sessions with the national team has shown he is no fluke. What the Kano Pillars striker needs desperately now is to produce one or two significant moments of magic in a competitive game. Should he do so tomorrow, would it be enough to force Rohr into making a tough decision? Simeon Nwankwo: Simy has come a long way. From his goalscoring exploits in the Italian Serie A to earning his call-up, all things seem to be working perfectly to plan. But inevitably, it only seems his hopes of joining the more established attackers in Russia lies on any of them falling to an irremediable injury. With Rohr spoilt for choice in attack, something big would have to come from the lanky striker if he takes to the pitch against their African opponents. Chidozie Awaziem: Awaziem's position in the Super Eagles is equally not set in stone and while he has not been particularly impressive when called upon, he has somewhat been backed to come good. Also, Ola Aina, Kenneth Omeruo and Stephen Eze looked to be above the Nantes defender from the reports from the camp and issues of fitness going into this test game might not bode so well for him. The jury could be out on him tomorrow. Dele Ajiboye: Rohr has already hinted on the possibility of taking just three of his goal custodians to the mundial and that is where Ajiboye comes in. With Francis Uzoho, Daniel Akpeyi and Ikechukwu Ezenwa all above him in the pecking order of goalkeepers, the manager could elect to give the Plateau United man a chance to assess him properly before dropping him. But what happens if he produces some jaw dropping saves against Yannick Bolasie, Cedric Bakambu, Benik Afobe and Co.? Emmanuel Chinaza http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=27914 |

Luckyroro: I am Congolese and I can't agree to have any of our top players in the Swiss Division 3 league. I always believe that Nigeria has very good local players. Vincent Enyeama is a product of the Nigerian lical league. So it will be harsh to say that nothing good would come from your local league. 6 Likes |

Rohr Experiments With 4-1-3-2 Formation: Omeruo RB, Aina LB, Idowu CB, Iwobi Striker Published: May 27, 2018 Rohr Experiments With 4-1-3-2 Formation: Omeruo RB, Aina LB, Idowu CB, Iwobi Striker Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr experimented with a 4-1-3-2 formation during the Super Eagles training session on Sunday evening ahead of tomorrow's friendly against the Leopards, allnigeriasoccer.com understands. Chippa United goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi was in between the pipes for the team wearing blue bibs or the Team A in the practice game. Versatile defender Kenneth Omeruo was deployed at right-back, with Chelsea teammate Ola Aina slotting in at left-back, a role he played in more than ten matches for Hull City during the 2017-18 campaign. Amkar Perm star Brian Idowu and the fit again Chidozie Awaziem were the central defenders. The role reserved for a strong and talented defensive central midfielder was taken by Ogu, Mikel Agu and Uche Agbo played as central midfielders, while Obi Mikel played slightly ahead of the trio. Arsenal starlet Alex Iwobi and Changchun Yatai's Odion Ighalo were the two center forwards. Team A Line-up At Training : Akpeyi; Omeruo, Awaziem, Idowu, Aina; Ogu; Agu, Uche, Mikel; Iwobi and Ighalo Ifeanyi Emmanuel http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=27916 |
