Didn't you see how Iwobi was rousing after he scored. This team can do it if they believe. Iwobi had believe, it showed in his efforts, in his movements, he played with urgency and determination. He stood out of the pack. Imagine if all of them rose up to the challenge as he did.

During the WCQ the team used to boot for 20 minutes now it's 45 minutes. Too bad.
this calls for quick action and be treated with matter of urgency.

how do you watch football, sterling a winger exposed the CD, he had his hand full with young because he refused to push...shehu was very poor

Which wing did u see Sterling playing? Sterling that was always body to body with the CBs.

i actually predicted it, Ebuehi vs shehu is like comparing Range Rover with keke napep

Ebuehi VS Shehu is more like technicality vs physicality ... alot has to be considered by Rohr to make use of either of them ...but i am begining to like Ebuehi ... he does his job effortlessly .but he need to learn somethings as he grows into the game .

Which wing did England penetrate during first half... It was shehu s wing... Not Brian and also there are more defending in first half... It is more of pressure...

Mikel was caged and lost..

Vic Moses was ordinary with not single attempt... He refused to track back and cover for Idowu...

I dunno why you said he was poor really...
If you said Idowu was poor what about first half performance of Ekong?

He actually had a shot on target in the first half. shocked

Even Arsene Wenger made this error at times.
He's obviously more effective playing through the middle.

mr Mujtahida, if you have dignity you wont even talk about this...you said we should keep moses on the bench until mikel get injured that he can't play from the wings

i told you 4-2-3-1 formation don't need the wingers to play as orthodox winger and can actually contain 3 number 10, i sighted arsenal and iwobi, ozil, mihkh.

iwobi proved me right today, because he played from the right and drift in, you lost my respect for going back to this today

Mikel played 10 today and was bellow par, mikel covered his ass and that was what me and icon04 was talking about

Some people are afraid to admit it, but Uzoho is very bad a grounders. Trust our world cup opponents to test him with alot of grounders. An exam I'm afraid of the result.
I noticed it rewatching the last two friendlies. Dem go put am for him OC

The booing of Dele Ali by Nigerian fans was really unnecessary... Just thinking out loud grin

I wish there could be another test match to find out who is better at the right back between Aina(his preferred position) and Shehu.. Thinking aloud grin

Getting clearer now... That onazi n Joel cant help the midfield. Before we think the problem is Mikel.. But now Mikel was involved still didn't gel...

Definitely Joel sit on bench and Ndidi will take the spot...

As Rohr will be thinking he will definitely try Ndidi, onazi n Mikel again to know how far... If that doesn't work out...
Onazi to bench...

Just about tactics Aint bother about our striking position Cos if the midfield gel well goals will come..
Come June 16.
Nigeria will suprise everyone

It's not booting.

It's just that Rohr didn't select his best XI.

If Ebuehi,Etebo and Ogu started the game we would have controlled the midfield.

So,it was a problem of choice of players not booting.

If you say booting, how come three introduced players didn't take time to boot or gel?

Aina and Agu are the players to be dropped. Check their jersey numbers. These are the players who didn't start the game.

Iwobi made me ululate so much today. I still can't believe that was Iwobi.

Ogu. Etebo. Ndidi. Mikel. Iwobi and Onazi( bench) should be our midfielders going to Russia.
Shebi you always say he's not matured. Him no show you today. The boy has it in him. He's not the kind of midfielder that would give you long swinging passes. He's one that will give short crisp passes and needs a mobile CM to play with him.

Asin... the jersey color is brighter than our first half display.

Me I can see Onazi, Joel, Aina, Echiejile all on the drop select list.

Some 100s of pages back, some Mikel fans were saying that Iwobi can't play 10 with Mikel on the pitch. I think we need to update our version of mentality tonight.

If not for the fact that that Iwobi was clutching his thigh, he would have done something to force an equalizer.

Etebo has finally convinced me. cool and calm on the ball.

For our RB and LB, I wish they were like the Brazilians own: Marcelo can dribble sotey it's one of his top three skills as the LB. Ebuehi is like a cat going forward too. You don't know when he would. Only Speed and Better defending separates him and Bellerin.

What is killing our coach is not this so called average team bullshyte some trogs are crying up and down here. The coach is damn too conservative. He only tries new things when the situation is gone awry. He did it against Argentina, he was saved. Today again same thing.

Those players that played first half were basically chosen in accordance with the-you never - change - a - winning-team mantra. Winning team bawo?. I say the times have changed. This is not the age for mantras. This is not the age for formulas. You have to think and rethink your strategy.

Even with these set of players if the coach is a bit radical we can hurt teams and win games.

Bros, have joined the wailing club?

Super Eagles Fans Are All Saying The Same Thing About Onazi After Poor Display Vs England

Published: June 02, 2018
Super Eagles fans have criticized the performance of Trabzonspor midfielder Eddy Onazi in Nigeria's 2-1 loss to England in an international friendly at Wembley on Saturday evening.
The former Lazio star was one of the first names on manager Gernot Rohr's team-sheet as the country qualified for their sixth World Cup but was hauled off by the German before the start of the second half.
Statistics from Whoscored will support the statements of Nigeria fans that Onazi had one of the worst games of his international career, with the holding midfielder making zero interceptions, clearances and blocked shots, no dribbles, shots and key passes, and finished the game with a poor passing accuracy of 68.4 percent.

Here's what Super Eagles fans have been saying about Onazi on Twitter :
@MalikMalcolmLee : ''what we’ve learnt today is that onazi is useless''.
@Yemzine : ''Onazi is so bad right now. Did he stop paying his tithes to T.B. Joshua??''.
@sportingshina : ''Onazi against @England was a definition of 'MATTER'. He has weight and occupied space.''
@drew_dej : ''Cannot pass Cannot tackle Cannot run ... rubbish player Abeg I dey warm up''.
@Cerebrone : ''Onazi is a mistake waiting to happen.''
@dejazimako007 : ''Onazi can be giving morale and singing gyration songs from the bench. Don't want to see him on the pitch again #ENGNGA''
@OlisaOsega : ''Onazi will cost us a lot at the World Cup if he starts.''
@FOLABI__ : ''How did this Onazi make it to Russia? 路♂️''.
@TheYomiKazeem : ''Onazi is playing for England.''
@Unwa_ : ''England is colonizing us again. Onazi is the Nigerian slave trade enhancing chief #ENGNGA''.
@Unwana_Etuk : ''After modric finishes with onazi during World Cup''.
@deejayfaremi : ''Dear Onazi, Hope all is well. Our jersey is the one with feather. Regards. ''.
@ebuka_akara :''How Nigerians are looking at Joel Obi and Onazi right now. #ENGNGA #RaiseATrophy''.
@temiokomi : ''Man. Onazi is awful. Sadly.''
@MalikMalcolmLee : ''onazi is the worst midfielder in this world''.
@IbkSports : ''How's Onazi going to the worldcup? How is he even a midfielder? The only thing he's creating in that midfield are problems !!! #ENGNGA''.
@Dayo_k : ''Get onazi out of this squad. Far away from the squad''.
@Folarinfotos : ''So, we are all unanimous in our submission that Onazi is better off as the team's official cheerleader than as a player on it.''
@Jydeskillz : ''Onazi should remain in Nigeria n not go to russia''.
@4eyedmonk : ''Onazi is the weak link in this team in this game''.
@AO1379 : ''Onazi can’t start for Nigeria again. Awful game. Awful.''
@Mclaniyi : ''Onazi just dey run around like person wey dey sell gala''.
@Cerebrone : ''How are we going to even get a point at the World Cup with Onazi in our midfield? How?''
@BelieveAllCom : ''Someone said that Onazi is the Bakoyoko of Nigeria. Lol #ENGNGA''.
@SirLeoBDasilva : ''lol Onazi what will happen when you meet Modric? Or when you meet Messi''.
@DizSteve : ''Really unfair for a player like John Ogu to be sitting on the bench while Onazi messes up every game. smh''.

this is thesame thing i was thinking about, people calling onazi, joel..but they forget even almighty mikel was also poor.

i believe what happened was more of mental and psychological. we need to work on it

Playin mikel as a forward backfired. I think we got carried away because he did well with cameroon game in Uyo. Mikel needs to be restored to the deep lying playmaker he has always been for the last 15 years courtesy Mourinho. You cant teach an old dog new tricks.

I wouldnt say Mikel was poor in the first half. He was played wrongly tactically speaking. We can see that all the whatever stopped in the second half and we saw a more meaningful and purposeful ball distribution

Sterling vs Ekong

He had quickly identified William Troost-Ekong as vulnerable and concentrated his sprints in the space occupied by the Bursaspor centre-half. This was a player escaping with the ball at his feet, and a performance offering flashes of his quality: the sharp spin off a befuddled Troost-Ekong, only to clip his shot over the advancing Francis Uzoho and wide of the far post; an attempt battered marginally over the crossbar; and a calmly slid pass for Harry Kane to score the hosts’ second.

i am not looking out for super Eagles victory , but i want to see :

cohesiveness /was missing in the first half
togetherness /was missing in the first half until 2nd half
pure attacking style /was missing in the first half
good defensive style was missing / completely restored in the 2nd half
also a compact midfield/we experienced this in the 2nd half

and readiness for the mundial ..../ Rohr need to work with some psychologist ... readiness should be in-still in the them
[/b]
ones i see all this intact , i know where to place my hope ... so far Rohr has done well . but we expect more from him .

i m yet to place my hope , but i still believe in the team

God willing and hope we all know that the croatia game is key to our moving forward. There will be no more excuse for any flop from any player. That game will decide the future of all those who will play in that game

The Croatia game is the most important to us just as the win vs Bosnia (our contender for 2nd spot in 2014) was the reason we made it out of the group.

I believe we can qualify with 4 points. 6 points a bonus.
