Unlimited22:there is no reason why a 30-ywar old should be relegated to back up for a 20-year old, especially if they 30-year old is actually a decent goalie. Now, you can reserve such places for poor goalies like Ezenwa, but there is such a thing as being too good for a job and Afelokhai is too good to be playing second in command to Uzoho Let small boys like Osigwe deputise for Uzoho.... Leave Afelokhai to continue in his glorious club career for Enyimba.....highest, we can recommend him as first choice goalie for the Home-based Eagles 9 Likes 1 Share |

safarigirl: See reverse psychology lol. I never heard of being too good for a call up. As a professional Afelokhai should not be worried about the age difference between him and Uzoho. In football anything can happen, I have seen teams lose 2 goalkeepers in one match so as long as u are on the bench there is a chance that u will play. |

Aiyenugba's 14 years old son David Aiyenugba led team kwara to gold in the just concluded National Youth games, he displayed a man of the match performance in the final with several breathtaking saves. should make the next set of U-17 boys 11 Likes |

BascoVanVeli:lol....and how many times have you seen teams lose their two goalies in one match? As long as you are on the bench, there is a greater chance that you may never play. Now, this all depends on your ambition as a person. Some people are contented with seating on the bench just as long as they receive a call up, some other people have a little more ambition and are not contented with just being a name on the team sheet. It really all depends on what level you grade yourself as a player, but like I said, there is such a thing as being too good for a role. Maybe so many African players would have made a name for themselves if they did not find solace in dusting the bench 1 Like |

With the new footballing season already in full swing, players are starting to prove their mettle for their respective European clubs and helping them find victories even in the face of adversity. Here, we will briefly profile three of the hottest Nigerian players in Europe : Eberechi Eze (Queen Park Rangers): The skillful 20-year-old attacking midfielder scored his second goal of the league season for Rangers in their Championship win over Bolton last weekend. While his knack for scoring vital goals in his short career is not in doubt, his work rate in helping stretch defences is another quality which could come in handy for the Super Eagles. Anthony Ujah (Mainz): Ujah has started off the German Bundesliga season in some form, netting in games versus Augsburg and Stuttgart and is odds-on favorite Rohr's most favoured option. Having been with the team before now and coupled with his wide range of experience, he could gel well with his mates and provide the needed goals when he is added to the setup. Josh Maja (Sunderland): With a return of five goals from eight League One games for Sunderland this term, Maja thus, boasts of an effective output for his team, his tender years notwithstanding. His physicality and ability to take on defenders is a bonus to go with his finishing prowess. |

ChrisKels: Anioma does not compromise of Asaba alone. As fluent in Igbo as you may be, the Kwale language in Ndokwa is very distinctive it's not Igbo. There origin is a mixture of both Benin and Igbo. That debate is never ending there are several historical articles on the subject. It's still far from conclusive. I remember going to Orogun and crossing the road barely three miles away and you now have Kwale language. I speak Igbo it's dramatically different admittedly with limited Igbo undertones. But that's not academic just personal experience. That being the case, we can say the discourse has moved on from origin to IDENTITY. This is the more pertinent question. But let's get back to football. Finally, I have noticed that there are some that still cannot discuss without vitriolic rhetoric very sad. There is absolutely no need for abuse. |

gamaliel9: Ighalo, Ujah and Akpala. Those 3? They were supposed to be the ones to carry on from where Martins, Yakubu and Ike Uche stopped. Let me also add Emenike and Osaze. But using the word average is even a hype on their performances. Rohr going for Ujah? I dont even know what to call that. 4 Likes 1 Share |

safarigirl: You made a point dear trust me but common we cannot have dead wood like ezenwa on the bench okay. Afelokhai can be a backup to uzoho because he his the first choice at enyimba and better than bench warmer ezenwa at enyimba Football is not by age okay,so it's a crime for 30 year old to be second choice ? Donarumma is 19 and ac millan first choice and pepe reina is 35 and second choice The last time I checked 41 year old Buffon is a backup to 25 year old areola I don't see that as a problem in the eagles but who am I ? Dinosaur rohr will keep on calling deadwood ezenwa 2 Likes 1 Share |

Icon4s: Abeg bros Ujah and akpala is different from ighalo Ighalo that they keep giving him chances and regular game time yet he doesn't deliver How many games did Joseph akpala and Ujah played for the eagles ? Akpala 9 caps 1 goals which is against France year 2008, Ujah 7 caps no goal ,ask me how many minute did any of them played compared to ighalo ? Those 2 hardly start a match for the eagles. If Ujah is playing well and he keep on scoring then there is nothing wrong if he is invited, after all ighalo is always invited |

Anthony Ujah that cannot score against Tahiti in 2013 fifa confederation cup. His ridiculous misses against such a poor team still linger on in my memory anytime I see or hear the name Ujah. 5 Likes |

Rhor played gamble on Uzoho and its paying off. I am expecting him to take such gamble on a striker and i'm suggesting Akiyemi. As for Ujah, I'm 100% sure he wont be better than ighalo. Meanwhile let d clamour for the invitation of Ebere Eze be loud on every corner because we cant afford to loose him. |

My position is clear. Based on what we have in Europe, our CFs are average at best. I’ve never complained about Ighalo being called up. That doesn’t mean I think he would deliver. Earthquake1: |

andrew444: Lol at first bolded. Even midfielders no go get that kind of stats. On the second bolded, sure ''if he keeps scoring''. But get my point '' He has not done enough to get a recall, lets see his run of form in the next couple of games''. I would rather take Kayode and Success. |

soetanoreoluwa: I know the potential of these two players. They may be out now due to injury lay offs but trust me they are far far better than the Ujah and Akpala option when fit and back in action. That is my point. I would even rather Rohr invites Nwakaeme than for him to invite Anthony Ujah. |
