Exclusive – Rohr Receives Report On Hertha Berlin German-Nigerian Defender Torunarigha Hertha Berlin highly rated 19 year old defender Jordan Torunarigha could be in line for a shock call up to the Super Eagles, Owgoalnigeria.com understands. We gathred that coach of the senior Nigeria team Gernot Rohr received glowing reports about the German born defender, who is comfortable as a left full back or central defender. Torunarigha is yet to play for the German Bundesliga side but he has sufficiently impressed the technical crew of the team, as he has made the matchday squad of the team on several occasion. Standing at an impressive height of 189cm, he is the son of former Shooting Stars man Ojokojo Torunarigha, who starred for the Ibadan side in the 80’s. However Nigeria need to fend off interest from Germany who have already capped the defender at youth level, with the press in Germany going as far as nicknaming him “Berlin Wall”. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/02/03/exclusive-rohr-receives-report-on-hertha-berlin-german-nigerian-defender-torunarigha/ 2 Likes |

Exclusive – Enugu Rangers Bobby Clement Called Up For Senegal Friendly Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has invited Enugu Rangers forward Bobby Clement for the Super Eagles friendly tie against Senegal in March. The forward has always been on the radar of the Franco-German coach who called him up for the World Cup 2018 qualifiers against Zambia, but had to replace him after injury ruled him out. Clement is reportedly the one home based player pencilled down for the tie, while three more are currently under consideration, owngoalnigeria.com understands. His performances during the Super Four championship further endeared him to the coach, who has always included at least two home based players in his team since appointed coach of the team. Rated as one of the feared forwards in the league, he will be hoping to succeed with the team unlike other home based players who have failed to break into the team when invited. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/02/03/exclusive-enugu-rangers-bobby-clement-called-up-for-senegal-friendly/ 1 Like |

No Contract Extension For Chidiebere Nwakali At Man City The future of former Nigeria U-17 and 20 midfielder Chidiebere Nwakali at English Premier League side Manchester City is looking bleak with the club not keen on offering fresh terms. Nwakali’s present contract with the team has 18 months to run, but the 20 year old who spent last season on loan to relegated Norwegian side IK Start has not been offered fresh terms. Manchester City reportedly tried to ship him out on loan to three German clubs during the just concluded January transfer window, but their offer was rejected. The midfielder who joined the team alongside Kelechi Iheanacho in 2014 has not have the best of time at the club unlike his Nigeria compatriot, no thanks to injuries and options in his preferred midfield role. Linked with a return to Norway before the start of their league in March, his next loan move could have an option for the loan side to make his deal permanent. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/02/03/no-contract-extension-for-chidiebere-nwakali-at-man-city/ |

Chelsea Vs Arsenal: Victor Moses Will Be Too Much For Iwobi On The Right – Chelsea Legend Former Chelsea left full back Celestine Babayaro says Victor Moses will cause Arsenal trouble on the right when both teams clash this weekend in the English Premier League. Babayaro made this known during a chat with Owngoalnigeria.com about the upcoming game at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea will be hoping to avenge the 0-3 hammering they suffered against Arsenal in the reverse tie. ” Arsenal will have problem coping with Victor Moses on the right, if Alex Iwobi is played against him. Iwobi isn’t such a good marker and Moses will thrive against him”, Babayaro told Owngoalnigeria.com. ” Iwobi has added some physical play to his game this season, but Moses will be a different kettle of fish to be up against. He plays with speed, force and skills. I will be shocked if Iwobi is played against him”. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/02/03/chelsea-vs-arsenal-victor-moses-will-be-too-much-for-iwobi-on-the-right-chelsea-legend/ |

Icon4s:Of course football is not mathematics but as it is we are left with numbers and stats which guide analysis in professional sports, not just football. The only link between Egypt and Cameroun in this tournament is Burkina Faso. Because they are the only team who have faced both finalists. Any sensible manager will look at both games (Burkina vs Cameroun and Burkina vs Egypt) as a preview or guide in what could happen on Sunday. Clearly, its another day another dollar like the Americans will say but that's all we have. |

goldfish80: I disagree with your analysis. No two games are the same. You can not tell what will happen in one game by looking at another except you want tactical insight. Both teams are tactically strong but Cameroon are poor in front of goal. Egypt needs a few chances to put the game to bed.. Except there are defensive mistakes by Egypt, can't see Cameroon winning it. 1 Like |

tbaba1234:Why do managers watch past clips of opponents since no 2 games are the same. If you watched the game last night tactically, you will notice Hugo Broos borrowed the Egyptian 4-4-2 formation against Ghana and surprised the Black stars with it. The Cameroun coach will certainly study Burkina vs Egypt,in view of coming up with a solid formation to better what Burkina Faso were able to manage. And you could see Hector Cuper in the stands studying the game closely with his assistants. I bet he will rewatch Cameroun Vs Burkina to guide his tactics. After all said and done, we are in for a tantalising final. 1 Like |

goldfish80: If this theory were true, then the final round of group matches will have predictable results since you could measure the performance of both teams based not just on one but two previous common opponents. This is not saying Cameroon won't win however, but just saying it wont be based on a deductive logic |

terzurum5: Rohr is unapologetically biased towards German football which is not his fault this is where most of his experiential knowledge comes from. When we are talking Green Eagles national team it is not a testing ground. But a an arena to prove your ability. Players who have not played a competitive season with thier teams from where we can assess thier quality, ability, and possible contribution to improve our national team. SHOULD NOT be invited to camp yet. 3 Likes |

goldfish80: Bruh, I still won't wanna play against a motivated Cameroun side. And if Cameroun wins this AFCON, the team would move mountains, including buying up the refs, to make sure they qualify for the World Cup. If there's anything more dangerous than a wounded lion, that's a very motivated lion. Anybody who wishes naija footie well should pray and Egypt comes true for Africa on Sunday by beating Cameroun. And by the way, the Algerian team we beat a few months ago was a team in disarray....a team that had just fired their coach. All in all, I still like our position as opposed to Cameroun. If we can beat Cameroun at home and secure a draw in Yaoundé (or even if we lose narrowly in Yaoundé), we'd be as good as qualified. I am sure that we can take care of business at home against Zambia and Algeria would be out of it by the time we face them in Algiers, so they might not give us a tough game especially if we could reach a gentleman's agreement with them O pari |

TheSuperNerd: Yup, goldfish was definitely onto something here. But my views on Cameroun was partially tinted by my desire to see them lose early. I definitely don't wanna face a fully motivated Cameroun. Unfortunately, Senegal disappointed me and failed to take advantage of all their chances. Cameroun has definitely over achieved so far, but Egypt would handle them on Sunday. It's gonna be a close match but I trust the Pharaohs to carry the day. Does anybody still remember that even Bukina Faso outplayed Cameroun in the first game? Anyway, let's just pray and hope that coach Rohr has picked up one or two things on how to play them sha. komekn:sir, I share in ur concern too. But be rest assured there is no cause for alarm on who n who will be called up for the crunch encounters against the indomitables come august. Rohr is no rookie and he understands the magnitude of the task ahead-so no room for experimentation. Most of this news of rohr scouting, following or may likely give call ups to some unknow players playing or not playing are fake n made up by agent-bought media just to call attention toward such a player-which m sure u know better. Peradventure the lions go all d way to lift the afcon trophy then Our dear brothers in the glass house will need to get off their comfort zone and organise some series of friendly matches both during/off d international breaks to test all this prospective players as our perennial foe will be representing africa at this yr's confederations cup which 'll give them more time to jell as a team therefore posing greater threat to us. |

Right now liverpool's Matip would not break into this Cameroon team, he made the right decision by staying away. To me Cameroon's strenght is at the back with those 2 monsters playing in the middle. They are physically imposing, good with their feet and can score the odd goal. |

Icon4s: Bingo! If Senegal had taken their chances, they would've beaten Cameroun. We just need to take our chances especially in the first leg, because we'll get chances. If we can get a result against them in the first leg, then we'll wait to hit them on the counter when get to Yaoundé or Douala. O pari 4 Likes |

tbaba1234: That will be a terrible news. If Enrique for one reason or the other drops Suarez, you expect the Uruguayan coach to dump him, even though he is their best hitman? If Iheanacho clearly stands out from the rest strikers in camp, it is a disservice to ourselves dropping him. We talk about players sacrificing for he Super Eagles but we hinge their positions on just favor of the foreign coaches. If Nacho does well for us, it will make it easier for clubs to snap him. If we dump him, we make our promising player to find it difficult to move to a big club. We are talking of a player who not long ago scored two goals selected as CNN goal of the week in our National colors. If Nacho is exceptional in camp play him. I wonder why we always think of dropping the better player for a weaker player. |

tbaba1234: Play your best player. Leave all those game time talk. Holes are burst through that argument. Sane was not playing and Boom, amazing displays. Gabriel Jesus has not played since November, he is playing well. What matters is not game time but the best person that will perform. Ighalo with all the game time lost form. So how can that become an ideal selector. We need the best. Simple. If iheanacho is the best play him. I did not say Iheanacho can not lose his place. Let him lose his place to a better performer. If there is not a better performer, play him. My point is crystal clear. I did not say legendary status. Play the best. 4 Likes |
