Yeah... Two assists.... I thought the other one scored by Alexis was spilled by iwobi.... I just checked the replay and found out it was walcott...... So that's what I meant by his involvement in 3 goals... wink BUT IT'S ACTUALLY TWO ASSISTS LIKE YOU SAY... smiley

BascoVanVeli:

Ok let me say it like it is, Sanchez stole his goal but it's still an assist making 2 for the match.

TheGoodJoe:
What a game by Iwobi and I think Arsene Wenger found the best way to use the young man. He was also prolific.

What is interesting about Iwobi's play is how he drifts from the wings to the creative midfield position. I think Arsene Wenger is watching some tapes of Guardiola and adding similar invention to the game.

Free Wingers

That is what I call Iwobi's role and it is brilliant. Dynamic and creative.

Iwobi got the chance to show his shooting strength. His passes were also sharp.

Most impressive was his back heel pass to Walcott. Boy that goes into the Arsenal nest goal tapes. Looking more like Kanu than Jay Jay.
Wenger is a jerk, real jerk, next match the boy may not be on sub talkless starting 11. He is a dumb ass who understand himself alone

Big Shout out to Iheanacho today. That was one hell of a marathon he ran today. He pressed, tracked back, built play and participated in counters.

He was a Machine today. Maybe, TheSuperNerd will get a Noble prize for discovering the first Alien On Earth.

I was too impressed in his play. His pass to Sterling for the goal was brilliant. Iheanacho is now congratulating his team-mates for assists to him. Nice growth in character.

Good display and I think Guardiola left the pitch, impressed with Nacho's contribution
.
So brilliant, he created a goal in his own half and ran some meters within the blink of an eye to direct the ball into the net.

Nacho's speed is impressive. There was even a fantastic run he made from the attack to the defence to win the ball.

He deserves praise for what he did today. The players need to trust him more and give him more passes. This will make him sharper.

Finally, Aleix Garcia was impressive. So organised and defensively sound. Looks like he was born to play for Pep.

Spent the later part of today with a former assistant coach of Amodu Shuaibu. He played for Ambassadors under Super Eagles former coach, Monday Sinclair.

It was a nice time and he told me a lot about the game. I enjoyed every bit of it. He also told me that Monday Sinclair released a coaching Manual.

Wish the Senior Man the best.

I read that Musa Yahaya has been promoted to the FC PORTO's first team. He was actually bought for the primera div team but never made a single appearance and boom, he has been promoted to the first team after some mesmerizing showings in the training. Kid is inline for his first team debut in weeks time.

Something in me tells me Tottenham Hotspur is gonna regret ever letting that kid go.

U guys are still getting wowed by the displays of Kelechi, Iwobi and their likes. Mehn I have gone past that, they don't surprise me anymore because, like PEAK, it is in them. These guys (Kelechi, iwobi, Ndidi, Success, Awaziem and to an extent, Sadiq Umar) already broke out last season, so what they're showing now is what is expected of them. I just congratulate and pray God to keep them moving and getting better, while I have got my eyes on the guys that could be our next breakout kings for the season e.gs include : Ejaria, Yahaya, Chidi Nwakali, Nura Abdullahi, Awua(remember Dat name) etc.

Come next season, top on my list to breakout would be, kelechi Nwakali, Osimhen, Sammy Chukwueze etc.

If Eric Bailly is Man Utd's solution to defending, then they better do a re-check coz two Nigerian youngsters have opened his "yansh"

First it was Iheanacho in the derby with his movements and positionings.

AND NOW, IN LESS THAN 60 SECONDS OF IMPACT, ISAAC "THE BEAST" SUCCESS TURNED HIM INSIDE OUT AND OUTSIDE IN.... WHAT A MASTERCLASS FROM SUCCESS.

HE isn't wearing Watford's No.10 Jersey for Nothing joor..... wink

The new era is here.... Hope Rohr includes him in the List for Zambia in Etebo's Absence and also if Simon Moses won't make it. I need to see Success' debut delayed no more... Haba!!!

Isaac Success only involvement resulted in a penalty. Mennn that guy is so strong and pacey.

Success in my opinion is one of the least reported young players in Europe. He was even the best player in the whole of Granada for last season.

I was of the opinion that Success should take Ideye's place on the squad list and some1 was accusing me of tribalism.

Sir.... We will continue to be "wowed" because Nacho, Iwobi and Success represent the leading figures of Nigeria's next super Golden Generation which I have been harping on since last year's May/June...

The others you mentioned have also been harped on at various times across all JOSEPH1013 THREADS FOR OUR CADET AND YOUTH TEAMS... BY NOT ONLY ME BUT A HOST OF OTHER BIGGER OGAS and Madam(s) AND Super-ANALYSTS IN THE HOUSE like Sir Goodjoe, Sir Basco, Sir Icons, Sir Orkperkyandega, Sir Terzurum5, Sir Blackalbino6, Sir Justiz5, and Madam Safarigirl and others...

I think we need to be coming up with weekly ratings of our players especially in the EPL.

Already there are arguments about who made d biggest impact between Iheanacho and Iwobi in their respective games.

We also saw Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa, Odion Ighalo, and Isaac Success all in action for their various clubs. Ovie Edjaria also made the Liverpool squad list against Chelsea.

The Dream Team VII Blueprint

Olympic Bronze aside it’s been a year to forget for Nigerian football.

Consecutive failures qualifying for one major tournament after the other , (AFCON , U17, U20 ) and shameful administrative lapses have redefined our football.

The most hard hitting were the ousters from the youth tournaments particularly the U20 which used to be our forte.

It is without a doubt a major setback both for the boys and ultimately for the development of the game in Nigeria.

The education at U20 helps define these kids , ask the legendary Maradona, or ask Paul Pogba – who described the U-20s as “an experience for once in a lifetime”
We’ve missed this obviously so now where do we go from here ?

In 2015, we unearthed genuine young talent ( Amunekes U17 Champions) but too often we just pick out individual stars from these teams and focus on them forgetting the entire unit as a whole.

As a result our national teams are severely unbalanced and lacking cohesion. A body of disparate individuals as against a fluid singular unit

What to do :
• Keep the team together with an eye on the next Olympics in 4 years’ time (The entire team are 17 or 18 years old right now, in another 4 years they will be 22 years old at most all well within the specified age (23) for the Olympics).

• Rotate members of the Team (Not just the stars) from time to time to train with the Super Eagles
• Decide on a coach (preferably the same Amuneke) and develop and empower him as much as possible (Coaching courses, secondments)

• Send the Team for as many tournaments as possible
• Integrate a few un-ignorable established talents of the same age band into the team slowly ( i.e Ovie Ejaria, Nura Abdulahi, Chidozie Awaziem )

• Organize as many exhibition games as possible for the team
• Help prevent those who haven’t yet gotten clubs abroad from signing contacts that would only throw them into obscurity.

If we could get a bronze in RIO with an ill equipped, inadequately prepared team, imagine the possibilities of presenting a well nurtured, well prepared cohesive team still complete with individual talent like (Nwakali (Arsenal), Osimhen (Wolfsburg), Chukwueze (Porto), Okonkwo (Bologna) Zakari (Safxien) Ejaria (Liverpool) Awaziem (Porto) Nura (Roma)at their peak and a sprinkling of choice overaged players (Iheancho, Success, Iwobi , Ndidi) ?

A mouthwatering prospect . . .but, we need to start NOW!
If we do . . .come the Tokyo 2020 Olympics , and then the next world cup in Qatar 2022 , we will return to the pinnacle of world football again

Sensational Iheanacho Scores 10th EPL Goal

Nigerian Super star Striker continued his steady rise to the top as he got another goal and an assist as Manchester city ran riot over Premier League new comers Bournemouth with goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Kelechi Iheanacho, Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan.

De Bruyne opened scoring for City converting a free-kick after Arsenal loanee Jack Wilshere had unnecessarily fouled Nolito in the 15th minute.

Iheanacho doubled City’s lead just ten minutes later, finishing a slick counter-attack by ruthlessly dispatching Sterling’s cut-back.

Iheanacho immediately returned the favor for the England international Sterling to get on the scoresheet himself just two minutes into the second-half, with a delightful cutback to tee up the former Liverpool winger.

Guardiola's blue army were completely dominant and continued to dazzle adding a fourth in the 66th minute through Gundogan.

Starting his first league game for the club, The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder, calmly slotted home after good work from De Bruyne.

One sore spot however was Nolito late red card for headbutting Cherries defender Adam Smit
The Goal was Iheanchos 10th in the premier league from just 14 shots with an impressive 87% conversion rate as the 19 year old Nigerian continues to show what a capable deputy he is for Aguero

High Flying Carl Ikeme Posts Impressive Shutout Against Newcastle

Current Nigeria and Wolverhampton Wanderers Net-minder Carl Ikeme was outstanding on Saturday as Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated Championship high flyers Newcastle United.

Wolverhampton Wanderers won away at Newcastle 2-0 thanks to Chancel Mbemba’s own goal and Helder Costa’s strike.

The Wolves keeper was at his best to thwart Newcastle Uniteds attempts at scoring time and time again and in particular making 2 excellent saves to stop a shot from Jonjo Shelvey in the 5th minute and then diving low to keep out Perez in the 22nd minute.

He was also at his best to block the rampant Mitrović with 13 minutes remaining.

Wolves currently have the joint tenth best defensive record in the English 2nd tier league having conceded just nine goals in eight matches a testament to Ikemes quality.

The Super Eagles keeper has with his performance put to rest dubious reports in the media suggesting current Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr was contemplating dropping him with Enyeama rumoured to be under consideration for a return to the national side after having retired from the national team following a fall out with former coach Sunday Oliseh.

Ahmed Musa’s Leicester Future Under Threat From Algerian Striker

Nigerian Striker Ahmed Musa may have his Place at Leicester City severely threatened by Algerian Star Islam Slimani.

Slimani has taken to life in the premier league with aplomb scoring 2 goals on his home debut for Leicester City as they comfortably beat Burnley 3-0 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Musa in contrast has started Leicesters first 3 games of the season on the bench.

Claudio Raneiris men continued from thier European success with a 3-0 victory over Burnley and Slimani also seems to have developed a good understanding with Leicesters star Man Jamie Vardy burying a first half header from Christian Fuch’s wicked cross
The former sporting lisbon man then added his second of the match after half time with another close range header, before Ben Mee put the cherry on top of a miserable afternoon for Burnley after putting into his own
Incidentally Slimani also eclipsed Musa as the clubs record signing when he was snapped up from Sporting Lisbon for £29million against Musas £16.6 million.

Ahmed Musa will square off against his Leicester teammates Riyahd Mahrez and Islam Slimani when Nigeria tackle Algeria in the WCQ campaign on the 7th of November.

Iwobi has quality, vision and movement: Arsene Wenger

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger continues to hail the impact of his 20 year old Nigerian Star Alex Iwobi following the latter’s man of the match performance in Arsenals 4-1 victory over Hull City in the EPL on Saturday.

The Gunners tactician spoke to the clubs official website Arsenal.com
The Midfielder got 2 assists in the match (one a delightful backheel to Walcot)and what would have been his goal was credited to Alexis Sanchez after his shot came of the Chilean and Wenger was purring over his performance at the end of the match.

“I started him last year because I’ve seen that there’s something in him that is quality of vision, quality of give and go, of movement.” Wenger said.

“He can break the lines with a pass and individually as well, so there’s a lot in the locker. ”

The French man added “Overall, he’s only 20 years old so you could see that he has gained in confidence now. He can take people on much more and he has gained power as well. It’s interesting what he has done.”

Iwobi was a delight to watch in the victory versus hull particularly in the 1st half as Arsenal saw off 10-man Hull City in an eventful match at KCOM Stadium with goals from Sanchez, Walcot and Granit Xhaka.

Alex Iwobi has now provided three assists in his last four games in all competitions for Arsenal.

Isaac Success stars as Watford beat Manchester United after 30 years

Ighalo (right) with Success at Watford

Late substitute Isaac Success’ mazy dribble run caused the penalty from which Watford scored to beat Manchester United for the first time in 30 years.

Nigeria U20 star Success dribbled his way into the United box just moments after he replaced compatriot Odion Ighalo, Watford teammate Juan Camilo Zuniga was then fouled as he tried to control the through before skipper Troy Deeney made no mistakes for Watford to win 3-1 at home.

Success joined Watford from Spanish La Liga club Granada CF in the summer on a club record fee.

The big home win will save Ighalo some blushes after he blasted wide a sitter in the first half.

The Hornets are now ninth on the Premier League table with seven points from five matches.

It was United’s third straight defeat after they lost to Manchester City in the league and Feyenoord in the UEFA Europa League.
